In addition, the hotel receives the status of International Five Star Standard, consolidating its brand of excellence in the hotel industry and qualifying as one of the best five-star hotels worldwide. The Europe Hotel Awards have been held since 2008, as part of the International Hotel Awards, formerly known as International Property Awards, founded in 1995. Today, its jury is composed of 70 experts from the hotel industry, chaired by Lord Thurso, a member of the House of Lords of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. They seek to identify, highlight and reward excellence in the global hotel industry. The criteria used for the global evaluation are, among others: design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.

Among all the candidates presented for the 2017-2018 awards, IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel Portals Nous has been awarded the Best Sustainable Hotel award and has received the status of ‘International Five Star Standard ‘, marking its quality and guaranteeing its exceptional levels of quality and services.

IBEROSTAR Grand Hotels Portals Nous will compete for the highest European award, “Best Sustainable Hotel”, at the Europe Hotel Awards Gala, which will take place on October 26 at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. This event will be linked to IPAX Europe Global, an exclusive networking exhibition for professionals in the hotel industry.

With an interior designed exclusively by the well-known Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, this 66-room hotel is the result of the perfect combination of sustainable architecture, avant-garde design and premium services. The combination of transparencies, white shades and reflective surfaces converge to create the design of this unique space.
