Boutique Design New York 2016 – 7th Edition

At the Javits Center, New York, from 13 to 14 of November, Boutique Design New Year 2016 will be its seventh edition. The Boutique Design New York Trade Fair it’s a hospitality’s fastest growing trade fair, with 100,000 nsf of exhibit space. Expect more than 3,000 designers, architects, purchasers and developers, along with hotel owners and operators, plus a full slate of events and Conference sessions designed to celebrate, showcase and spur innovation in hospitality interiors.

BDNY delivers on both the practical and experiential aspects of hospitality design, with unique gathering spaces, design challenges and myriad networking events on the exhibit floor.

DESIGNED SPACES
See the latest FF&E innovations in the context of uber-inspiring Designed Spaces—bars, cafes, lounges and other “hospitality hubs” for BDNY attendees—each created by a leading hospitality design firm using exhibitor/sponsor products. Designed Spaces are your destination for Interactive educational sessions as well as face time with manufacturers and industry colleagues.

STEAMPUNK DESIGNER
Steampunk, the fusion of modern aesthetic with re-purposed Victorian-era products, has taken the hospitality design world by storm with visionary artistBruce Rosenbaum of ModVic leading the charge. He’ll be fabricating a replica of the Steampunk whale he created for the Nantucket Hotel & Resort during BDNY – where you’ll get up close and personal with the creative process of Steampunk design.

CHOR BOOGIE
Join in as art comes to life at BDNY. Spray paint artist Chor Boogie brings his creativity to BDNY where you can watch, comment, even take part as he develops his projects over the two days of the fair.

THE INCUBATOR
One of the most exciting additions to the 2016 BDNY program is the Incubator, a demo space on the exhibit floor where attendees can play with, and learn about, the latest tech toys and tools opening up new avenues in hospitality design.

BEST OF BDNY PRODUCT DESIGN COMPETITION
Look for “Best of BDNY” signs on the exhibit floor designating winners of this juried competition recognizing the designers and manufacturers of the year’s most innovative new products for hospitality interiors.

GOLD KEY AWARDS
BDNY coincides with the annual gala celebrating our industry’s oldest and most prestigious awards program, the Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design, sponsored by Boutique Design magazine. The gala will be held Monday evening, November 14, 6:30–10:00 PM, at the Waldorf Astoria, New York. Both finalists and winners in 21 project categories will be recognized at the gala, along with the 2016 Designer of the Year honoree and NEWH’s annual Icon of Industry Award & Scholarship winners.
