February 12, 2024

California, USA – Amy Simonyan, the founder of Advanced Home Services, is reshaping the realm of design-build firms with a keen focus on livable luxury. Based in Los Angeles, California, Simonyan’s company stands out for its seamless integration of construction expertise with interior design finesse. In a recent interview, Amy Simonyan shared insights into her journey as a pioneer in a male-dominated industry and her experiences visiting showrooms abroad. “I’m Amy Simonyan. I’m the founder of Advanced Home Services, a design-built firm company based in Los Angeles, California,” she introduced herself. Simonyan reflected on her foray into the construction industry and her transition into interior design and decor. “When I started our business, I launched them into a male-dominated business, which is construction,” she recalled. “Understanding build and executing to completion home and project where the customer can enjoy their practicality, functionality makes us stand out that I design in a mindset of livable luxury.”

Discussing the importance of exposure to global design influences, Simonyan emphasized the value of incorporating diverse elements into her projects. “Such as coming to Portugal and visiting other countries and learning about different elements, different products, and different techniques that can be incorporated to build something unique,” she explained. She expressed appreciation for the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the craftsmanship and quality behind luxury furnishings during her visit to a showroom and factory. “I think it’s a great opportunity for designers and for builders to actually understand the product and to get a first-hand exposure to what the product entails to, the craftsmanship that goes beyond the product,” she remarked.

Simonyan admitted that her expectations were exceeded by the level of detail and customization offered by the products she encountered. “Honestly not. I was expecting to only see a finished product, but it was great for us to have insider information, insider eye to see the product from start to finish,” she confessed. “That gives us more, again, peace of mind and more confidence when we’re investing in the pieces.” Impressed by the presentation and range of products, Simonyan praised the showroom’s aesthetics. “I love it. I think it’s beautifully staged,” she enthused.

Reflecting on the differences between European and American design trends, Simonyan highlighted the versatility of luxury brands like Covet and Boca do Lobo in complementing diverse styles. “Well, the trends in Europe are a little different than the trends in United States,” she observed. “However, with this new year, we’re expecting a lot of neoclassic designs. And with neoclassics, the pieces from Covet and Boca do Lobo, they perfectly fit right in.” Looking ahead to future collaborations, Simonyan shared her plans to incorporate products from Maison Valentina into her upcoming projects. “Yes. From Maison Valentina, we’re going to do a bathroom collection for one of my upcoming projects,” she revealed.

She teased an Art Deco-inspired project currently in development, emphasizing her meticulous approach to combining classic and modern elements. “It’s very unique, one-of-a-kind, incorporating actual artwork and statues of very expensive and extraordinary pieces,” she teased. Simonyan underscored the importance of selecting high-quality pieces and fostering synergy between different brands in her designs. “Best quality pieces and being selective with the textures and combination of different brands that can co-efficiently play together in an area,” she emphasized. Expressing her long-standing admiration for Boca do Lobo and other luxury brands, Simonyan hinted at exciting collaborations on the horizon. “Absolutely. I’ve been eyeing Boca do Lobo for several years,” she confessed. “And we have a lot more projects planned out.”

As she concluded the interview, Simonyan reiterated her commitment to visiting showrooms like the one in Portugal to gather inspiration for her luxury residential projects. “I only do luxury residential homes, and I do new build homes,” she affirmed. “So it’s very crucial for me to be able to come and see and feel and touch elements and pieces that can be incorporated in our upcoming project.” Despite the limited time for exploration due to weather constraints, Simonyan expressed her admiration for the vibrant culture and rich history of Portugal, hinting at future visits to the country. In the ever-evolving landscape of luxury design-build firms, Amy Simonyan’s dedication to livable luxury and her quest for global inspiration continue to set Advanced Home Services apart as a beacon of innovation and sophistication.
