CovetED had the incredible opportunity to experience the authentic beat of Berlin at the Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg. A haven of peace and tranquillity in a vast yet private retreat. The Orania.Berlin is directly located in the centre of Kreuzberg at Oranienplatz. This is Berlin’s most exciting district, as everyone who lives there will tell you. Kreuzberg has long been known for its cultural variety, as well as its experimental and alternative lifestyles, which attracts young people from all over the world.
Natural materials and a delicate Eastern accent define the 41 large rooms. The architecture and design’s complexity and contradiction create an open atmosphere in which both local people and global travellers may feel equally welcome without borders. Live jazz performances by Berlin musicians are a common occurrence in this welcoming meeting space dedicated to the arts, entertainment, interaction, and debate. Philipp Vogel, the culinary chef, and his team prepare cosmopolitan food. Laura Driftmann, the bar manager, creates artisan cocktails, beverages, and beer from the best (local) sources. There are 70 seats in total, an open kitchen, an open fireplace, and a performance stage with a Steinway D piano.

Orania.Restaurant focuses on the essentials and helps you enjoy every little moment, surrounded by warm colours, atmospheric lighting, and high-quality materials in the heart of the Kreuzberg community, with regular guests from Berlin and international foodporn lovers. An exquisite and tasteful sensorial experience.
The Orania.Stage, as well as Orania.Salon hosts exclusive performances with Berlin-based musicians on a regular basis. Matti Klein, a well-known jazz pianist, has curated the program. His programming is an unusual blend of soul, jazz, pop, and global music.
The luxurious rooms are noiseless. inductive heating and cooling system, extra soundproof doors, oiled oak floorboards, with oversized mattresses handmade by Schramm. The Luribaff carpets handmade in Iran, with sophisticated golden lights designed by Enzo Catellani, custom made reflecting spots by Baulmann in Germany, and B&B Italia furnishings designed by Patricia Urquiola and Antonio Citterio. The linen textiles were created by Andrew Martin in London and manufactured in India, the furniture was manufactured in Indonesia for Lambert Home, the switches were manufactured in Italy by Berker, and the bathroom fixtures were manufactured in Germany by Hans Grohe.
In 41 large suites and intimate rooms that merge traditional Italian elegance and subtle oriental influences with warm lighting and natural materials from throughout the world, you’ll feel liberated. CovetED had the opportunity to visit and experience this phenomenal and luxurious hotel and service, where art and music play such an iconic role both in the experience and in the aura itself.
