This year’s awards ceremony, held in Porto, introduced eight new one-star restaurants, bringing the total number of Michelin-starred establishments in Portugal to 38. Among the winners, Marlene Vieira and Rita Magro became the first Portuguese female chefs in over three decades to earn a Michelin star, signaling a shift towards greater diversity in the industry. Yoso is where chef Rui Silvestre delivers a multi-sensory journey through bold flavors and artistic presentation. The restaurant’s name, meaning “elements” in Japanese, reflects its philosophy of blending fire, water, earth, and air into each dish, resulting in a fusion of Portuguese and Asian influences.

The inspectors confirm that the greatest champions of Portuguese cuisine are: Alma (Lisbon), Antiqvvm (Porto), Belcanto (Lisbon), Casa de Chá da Boa Nova (Leça da Palmeira), Il Gallo d’Oro (Funchal), Ocean (Porches), The Yeatman (Vila Nova de Gaia), and Vila Joya (Albufeira).
