One week for Milan Design Week 2016 and Salone del Mobile to debut! Are you curious to have design guidelines in your pocket during Salone del Mobile 2016? Today, Milan Design Agenda brings you an exclusive insight from the best world designers. Marco Piva and Nina Yashar suggest their own inside guide for you. Let us see what design places are worth visiting in Milan this year in Nina Yashar’s point of view.
Best hotels – Hotel Bulgari
The Bulgari Hotel garden, designed by landscape architect Sophie Agata Ambroise, offers several options that are ideal for meetings and private events, each with a capacity of 50 people and a truly unique exclusivity. Trees and hedges create a series of open-air ‘rooms’ that can be interconnected or partitioned off, with four slight shifts in elevation, three of which are planted with grass.
Best restaurants – Potafiori
Potafiori is a perfect Milan restaurant “for its fresh and sophisticated identity”, an unexpected layer that is slowly cloaking Milan with a number of hidden jewel destinations. Part flower shop, part cocktail bar and all day restaurant-cafe, the eclectic scene is governed over by Rosalba Piccini, a jazz singer and florist with bright red hair and a vivacious, winning personality.

According to Marco Piva, responsible for the biggest hotels interior decoration, CovetED Magazine is going to present the best places to visit at Milan Design Week 2016 as well.

Excelsior Hotel Gallia has a wonderful rooftop and was awarded for a World Best Suite – KATARA suite. The majestic project was designed by Marco Piva!
Best restaurants – Ba Asian Mood
Marco Piva recommends Ba Asian Mood, one of Milan best restaurants to eat during Milan Furniture Fair 2016. He assures: “it is a 360 degrees Design restaurant, from the location interiors to the fork to the presentation of the dishes”.

Best Furniture/Lighting shops – Corso Monforte
For Marco Piva, it is a special place “as for the lighting, I am not thinking to a showroom, but to a street, Corso Monforte, the “Road of Light” in Milan, where there are some of the most important Italian brands in Lighting Design, such as Artemide, Flos, Fontana Arte, Luceplan.
Best Showrooms – Nilufar
It is true to say that Nilufar conquers every Milan tourist, and in Marco Piva’s words “a shop that was launched last year, that has an imposing, dramatic and yet practical space, studied to merge function and style, with a typical Milanese lifestyle.”
