A factory with a French name has half Russian roots. The Shushans made furniture in the Moscow region, and the Roche family had two factories near Paris. In 1933, emigrants from Russia opened the company O-Bo-Bois (literally “of a good tree”). Children of entrepreneurs met only in 1960, at an exhibition in Copenhagen. Jacques Roche and Jean-Claude Chouchan agreed to combine capital and import furniture from the Scandinavian countries. A year later, they held a joint advertising campaign to promote furniture “from Roche and Beaubois“, from which the name of the company subsequently arose.
Maurizio Minacciolo grew up in his father’s furniture store and was passionate about this craft from childhood. In the early 70s, decided to make his dream come true: to establish his own small business. His idea was to industrialize the production of furniture in the country style, typical of the Tyrol-Cortina d’Ampezzo region and very popular in the early 70s. In 1973, the first Minacciolo factory is founded, which rapidly develops due to the favorable reception on the market.
