Christian Haas is a lovely example of a German designer who definitely managed to succeed by taking his ambitions abroad. Currently living and working in Oporto, Portugal, Haas has a notable portfolio for the creation of elements such as furniture and lighting as well as porcelain and glassware. CovetED will be showing you one of his latest initiatives: cooperation with Andreas Murkudis in exhibiting the best of their works.

What’s this collaboration all about? The fact that Andreas Murkudis’ Berlin boutique has exhibited some of Christian Haas‘ top works. Being both friends and colleagues, the two interior designers worked towards their conceptions of what makes a good showcase.
In this exhibit, we can take a good look at the diversity present in Christian Haas’ oeuvre. An observant person can definitely detect some of the designer’s top projects for bespoke leading German manufacturers which includes the likes of brand names such as Schönbuch, Villeroy and Boch.

The exhibit has little splashes of colour here and there, as well as a couple of smaller objects to create a little sense of aesthetic. A little walk through this unique showcase will allow you to see several options for home decor. This includes furniture for living, eating and working, accompanied by glass and tableware. These consist of furniture elements conceded in countries such as Germany, Portugal and even in Japan.
Regarding the cooperation, Andreas Murkudis stated in Christian Haas’ homepage that the two colleagues “have shared values in terms of what quality means. It is about longevity, the authenticity of the materials and a sense of modesty.“ As a matter of fact, Haas’ works involve keywords such as simplicity and elegance.
Christian Haas is a notable designer due to his range of projects and cooperations. Thanks to his talent we can point to relevant collections such as the lighting edition ROPES (part of Vitra Design Museum’s permanent collection) as well as the broad furniture range for Japanese producer Karimoku New Standard, which are two collections that are also a relevant presence in this showcase.
