Four Portuguese projects were awarded last Tuesday, July 9, in the architecture awards of the online international platform Architizer A +. Among the winners of the competition, which includes 100 categories for architecture, which were competing with 553 finalists, four Portuguese projects emerge, all chosen by public vote. The Architizer A+Awards is the largest awards program focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products. Its mission is to nurture the appreciation of meaningful architecture in the world and champion those products that are integral to bringing great buildings to life.
The Portuguese winners are the project Deloitte Lisbon (Ventura + Partners), Casa 3000 (Rebelo de Andrade), Lisbon Wood (Plano Humano Arquitectos), and Pátio do Meco (Fábio Ferreira Neves). The platform annually evaluates thousands of projects from around 100 countries around the world and awards two different awards, the Jury Prize and the Popular Voting Award.
Pavilhão Atlântico de Viana do Castelo
The Atlantic Pavilion was also a finalist in Viana do Castelo, a project of the Valdemar Coutinho Arquitectos studio, built in 2018, as a sports pavilion for the municipality, named in the Details Plus categories – Concrete Architecture, Sports & Recreation Centers. In the Portuguese winners, in the Commerce – Interior Offices category, there is the Ventura + Partners workshop for the Deloitte offices in Lisbon, composed of several work areas, built in 2017.
Lisbon Wood, from the Plano Humano Arquitetos studio, a finalist in the categories of Concepts – Plus-Architecture + Renovation and Multi-Housing Residential (between five and 15 floors), won the renovation category. The project, built in 2019, consists of a set of apartments whose original building was dedicated to public services and was remodelled to create a residential area.
In the category Concepts – Plus – Architecture + Colour won the Casa 3000, from Rebelo de Andrade studio, with the status of a private house, in the countryside, in a farm in the area of Alcácer do Sal, built in 2018.

Pátio do Meco
The Pátio do Meco, in Sesimbra, by Fábio Ferreira Neves, won in the Residencial – Private House category, with a construction date of 2018, and with status as a guesthouse.
Casa 3000
The jury of the awards is annually composed of about 500 professionals from the areas of architecture, design, journalism, engineering and construction. Promoted globally by Architizer A +, they are presented as “the largest award program celebrating the best architecture and products of the year”, and its aim is to create “a prize that reminds the world how architecture is important.”
Generali Towers Zaha Hadid
Besides these, Generali Tower Zaha Hadid Architects, Calvin Klein Paris HeadquartersArchitecture Research Office, Gallery of FurnitureCHYBIK+KRISTOF ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS, The UID Cube – AmsterdamFXCollaborative and the Harbour KioskLAAB Architect are some of the other winners of Architizer A+ Awards.
