Curiosity is known as French designer Gwenael Nicolas‘ project and steps into the Tokyo Interior Design Scenario. This is a company known in the country, and worldwide for being responsible for the redefinition of the boundary of design, as well as for his incredible network of companies and clients that he gest in touch with to create new products, develop new materials and define whole new design identities. CovetED has picked five of the best projects that this company has taken on in order to let you in on the type of style this firm is known for.
We open with a special type of project which is notable for being within a 19th-century aristocratic palazzo. For this project in particular Curiosity took on a full focus on the Baroque style mixed in with a couple of modern design elements. The white ceiling is reminiscent of the 60s, the colours in every element are varied and enrich in details, and the lighting is well organized in a way that effectively enhances all the right details.
This two-floored store in Singapore is a futuristic wonder to glance upon starting from the entrance. Upon entering, expect to be marvelled by the effective contrast of black and white with a couple of colours of the clothing enriching the scenario. A balance of light and dark that ultimately shows Curiosity‘s way of handling certain types of interior projects.

Gold and white are the main patters that paint the incredible scenario within this store in Miami. The ceiling is definitely one of the first things one glances upon entering the store, seeing that it illuminates and enhances the store in the visual sense. Going deeper within the store there are some refreshing elements added in through the use of blue furnishings, especially in the shoe area. All in all, it’s a very minimalistic project, yet it’s definitely a marvel to the eye.
Yes, it was Curiosity that was the chosen firm to handle that which is known as Fendi’s biggest flagship store. In here there’s an enormous two-floor shop designed by Gwenael Nicolas, and it shows the designer’s style. The biggest highlight we can definitely point out is the constant contrasts between traditional materials (such as antique marble), as well as a set of carefully designed sequences for each and every type of accessory you can find in here.
Lastly, we come to a project that successfully mixes shades of vivid luminosity with seductive obscurity. This is a unique lighting and visual effect that can be felt throughout the store’s 550 square meters. The project by Curiosity is very allusive to what we picture regarding Aladdin’s cave of treasures. Specifically, we’re talking about a project where light (or lack thereof) casts some incredible shades and new perspectives on the brand’s luxurious products on display.
