
Laufen Launches a Series of Stunning New Bathroom Designs ⇒ The Swiss company Laufen Bathrooms has launched new products at the Salone Internazionale del Bagno. The brand invited names like Marcel Wanders, Patricia Urquiola e Konstantin Gcric, among others, to work and develop original articles.

The project is part of a wider and more strategic one that the company is developing with SaphirKeramik, the thinnest ceramic material in the world. For years Laufen has been working with renowned designers to challenge and explore this material. Projects were born that emphasised its lightness and subtlety, others were focused on the possibility of creating three-dimensional surfaces and some have changed the way of thinking about bathroom environments. Collections which have shown how this versatile material can speak a very minimal language as well as being extremely decorative.
The New Classics by Marcel Wanders


The hands of Marcel Wanders have brought to life The New Classic. A versatile and articulated project with a classic edge, in which bohemian is perfectly combined with cosmopolitan and metropolitan, creating an eclectic style. A reinterpretation of classic elegance in a contemporary key that gives life to a sophisticated and contemporary collection which includes washbasins and a bathtub, as well as furniture and accessories for the bathroom.

SONAR by Patricia Urquiola


The Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola designed the third generation of products in SaphirKeramik. The collection was named SONAR and it has a refined and elegant line of washbasins – also available in the countertop version – and. The designer initiates a continuous dialogue between elementary forms that penetrate and harmonise in a sophisticated balance of angles and curves. This year the collection is enriched with matt white ceramic and container furniture with rounded lines and metallic finishes.

VAL by Konstantin Grcic


Konstantin Grcic, a German designer, joined his creative flair with his great ability to push new materials and new production methods to their limits. That process led to the birth of the diverse collection in Saphirkeramik VAL. The collection presents solutions with a simple and functional design which are at the same time highly expressive – underlined with the ceramic in matt white.

INO by Toan Nguyen

Toan Nguyen is no stranger to Laufen. The partnership between the two began in 2011 and led to the creation of the INO series, through which the Parisian designer was able to explore the almost infinite possibilities of working with this refined material. The designer developed the subtlety and lightness of Saphirkeramik to obtain an aesthetic with simple and elegant features.

The conventional shape of the washbasin has been reinvented with the aim of creating a practical and functional product, suitable for everyday use and at the same time with aesthetically attractive lines. This year Laufen is presenting INO ceramics in matt white, to accentuate the architectural lines even more.

Kartell by Laufen

The Kartell by Laufen collection includes a complete range of furnishings, accessories, sanitary – available in different finishings, including the new matt white – and faucets designed by award-winning designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba.
