BD BARCELONA: TOUT VA BIEN

TOUT VA BIEN cabinet designed by graphic designers Antoine Audiau and Manuel Warosz is a surprising mixture of “applied arts, hieroglyphic language, contemporary graphics, fantasy and optimism.” It is produced with the quality of yesterday but using today’s technologies.

WALNUT MULTILEG CABINET

Jaime Hayon continues to be one of the most celebrated Spanish designers on the international stage. Now BD presents a wooden version, in a varnished or nature walnut veneer finish, with the same virtues as the first: modular, multipurpose and multileg.

DREAMS CABINET

A new cabinet arrival to the BD collection signed by Cristian Zuzunaga (Barcelona, 1978). The superficial tops, fronts and laterals of the cabinet are made of printed tempered 6mm glass and presented in three versions – colored, black/white , or white/black. A perfect sculptural focal point for the lounge area of a home, or the foyer of a hotel.

GARDENIAS ARMCHAIR WITH PERGOLA

The Gardenias Collection is BD’s second collection and has thrived on the same virtues as their first. It has quality, personality, elegance, the right point of romanticism, and lots of versatility, perfect for the home as well as public spaces. The collection is divided into outdoor pieces, with the purpose of recuperating classic elegant furniture for the garden with contemporary style, and the indoor collection, that includes an armchair and a sofa with sophisticated imagery – now presented with new finishes and upholstery.

SHOWTIME POLTRONA

A collection in which plastics consort with upholstery, the gleam of lacquered wood, and the tradition of fine ceramics. In these contrasts between classicism and modernity, Showtime reflects what has always been the very essence of BD.

POLTRONA FRAU: ALBERO

Conceived in the late 1950s as a floor-to-ceiling free-standing bookcase, “Albero” was designed for use in interior settings rather than for serial production. Frau’s reintroduction of the design is a reminder that vintage furniture doesn’t have to be overused (or used at all), kitschy or “retro.” The bookcase comes equipped with 8 – 12 adjustable “cubular” shelves and can extend to fit ceilings as high as 11-feet. It can also swivel 360 degrees, giving the tension rod set-up a bookstore browsing vibe.

Albero was mentioned in The New York Times “Top 10 Moments at Milan Design Week”.

CAPELLINI: FRAC

Frac is a chair that thanks to its soft and sinuous structure envelops whoever sits in it like a tailored suit, from which it takes its name. Produced in plastic using a rotational technique it is ideal for outdoor use, but it fits well in domestic or public places as well due to its wide palette of available colors: cloud, magnolia, marsala, green, powder, mud.

VERMELHA

This chair designed by Campana Brothers will take everyone by surprise. While it looks like a mass of string it’s actually a steel structure with hand-woven and dyed cotton rope. This piece incorporates many aspects of weaving: intertwined threads form the ropes, which are then hand-woven into upholstery. Five hundred meters of red cotton ropes are used to create these random looking loops, but, in reality, there is a structured method in the rather chaotic padding.

GLAS ITALIA: SHIMMER

Patricia Urquiola‘s poetically contemporary “Shimmer” table is brilliant in both its concept and physicality. Made from iridescent glass with a multicolored finish, the small tripodal table reacts with light, which allows its surface to seemingly change hue depending on your vantage point. The graceful shifts in color lend it a balletic energy, and the lack of construction materials (the parts are joined with glue) keeps the focus on its prismatic effects.
