PTang Studio joined Covet Collection Design Editions to create a functional, minimal set of pieces perfect for a modern aesthetic. Using simple and identifiable shapes in its pieces, where ergonomic is blended with design to provide an instinctual relationship with every item and its user. The living series capsule collection was mainly designed with the easy forms and textures of natural elements in mind, where Henges play a major role. These structures set in stone or timber circles are the cohesive element throughout the full collection, hence its main inspiration being one of the most recognizable historical monuments in the world: the Stonehenge.

With a sublime influence of Japanese elements like the Tome-Ishi, a small stone “bean” used in Japanese zen gardens, is a touch of sophistication that elevates this collection to a new level of exclusivity and uniqueness. A high sense of nature and the Earth itself, allows the Stonehenge Capsule Collection to become through its simple shapes and natural hues a truly superb contemporary curation.

Objects of Nature Capsule Collection

Sarsen Stool

The smaller item in the Sarsen family set, this stool is quite subtle but very distinctive in its contemporary design. Using textiles with colors that resemble stones and a clean and streamlined design for a modern and minimalistic appeal, a superb textured single tone boucle upholstery, characterized by its detailed stitching. Gathering inspiration from the Sarsen stones used in the historical Stonehenge, the sublime touch of a granite stone, was used for a unique and luxurious touch.

Heel Stone Dining Table

The Heel Stone lies Northeast of the Sarsen Circle, beside the end portion of Stonehenge Avenue, a stone with a highly texturized surface and elemental carved shape. The three feet made from carved hardwood taper in similar characteristic to the Heel Stone and highlighted in a three-color finish to resemble the sky and light cast on the Heel Stone at different times of the year. The dove white marble tabletop immediately mirrors the shape and colors of the famous stone as well. The cohesive element of the collection, a granite stone adding luxurious details to an exquisite table, turning it into a unique item for any dining setting.

Bluestone II Dining Chair

The word “bluestone” is used informally to designate all of the non-intrinsic stones at Stonehenge. The irregular forms used in the hardwood lacquered feet and back of this chair are reminiscent of the monument’s various stones and elements. The chair is constructed of lacquered hardwood with amobe-bluette stain varnish legs that extend from the seat to become the armrests and backrest, and a soft and comfortable upholstered seat in a friset bouclé fabric.

Sarsen Modular Sofa

Sarsen stones are sandstone blocks found in quantity in the United Kingdom. These stones are the ones used in the ancient and mysterious Stonehenge. Heavily inspired in the setting of the stones in the monument, this modular sofa uses two distinct upholstered cushions, both for the seat and backrest. A superb textured single tone boucle upholstery, characterized by its detailed stitching. Using hues in the fabrics to resemble the stones and a clear and sleek shape for a contemporary and minimalistic look. Finally, the sublime touch of a granite stone, for a unique and luxurious touch.

Dovedale Console

A marvelous and discreet console with the incorporated and unifying characteristic of the granite stone in its center for a sublime look. From the Dovedale family, inspired by the Stepping Stone the wooden carved base provides a distinctive natural appeal by being shaped in different levels and different colors, while the hardwood lacquered with amobe-bluette top and drawer uses a contemporary square shape. An indispensable item for any room or setting.

Cairn Modular Cabinet

Cairn is a group of stones carefully arranged on top of each other. Derived from the Scots Gaelic word meaning ‘heap of stones’ and an ancient form of markers. This spectacular and mystical served as the inspiration for the contemporary Modular Cabinets. With different shaped modules, available in a complete set or separately, made with hardwood lacquered with white satin varnish, and a highly texturized front and doors mimicking the famous stone itself. Finally, like any other item from the collection, uses a granite stone for that luxurious finishing touch.

Dovedale Center Table

The Dovedale Stepping Stones are a beautiful feature in the Peak District and a declared National Nature Reserve of UK. With two different carved hardwood legs, the modern center table masterfully unifies the main characteristics from the collection, the granite stone with a tempered glass top, emerging a contemporary designed coffee table.
