This particular living room environment is inserted in Ester Bruzkus‘ Berlin apartment, in a charming neighborhood of bohemian bonhomie and hipster flair. The apartment’s panoramic views of Berlin are almost as good as the decoration itself, but today we will focus on the living room design. Prepare to be inspired!

The entire apartment is gorgeous, but we especially love the living room area. The sofa section was designed for the space and exactly how the designer wanted it. It offers reds and pinks in rich velvet tones, fancy fringes and a come-hither appeal set against the cool grays of the living room wall. Striking in balance and well styled.

If you are wondering about the inspiration behind this living room, Ester Bruzkus confessed that it came from lots of different sources including – films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light, and shadows.

The result is an idiosyncratic apartment that encapsulates all the qualities of Ester’s architecture and interior design practice Ester Bruzkus Architekten: efficient planning, playful material and colour juxtapositions, bespoke furniture, and exquisitely crafted details.
