Inventive Designs from The Future: The Missing Dining Table

Singapore-based designing firm, The Creativeans designed an extraordinary collection to present in this year at SaloneSatellite, Salone del Mobile exhibition. The collection entitled as The Missing Dining Table and includes eight creative designs.

The idea of the collection started as an exploration of dining concept and thinking about how we dine as a whole these days. This question led to these imagining dining alternatives for the future. The Creativeans designed these convenient pieces and invited a guest designer, Andrew Loh, to collaborate on their project. The exhibition was also supported by the DesignSingapore Council, which is part of the Ministry of Communications and Information.

These creative and useful designs are shown below respectively in the title with Botanica, Venus, Singular, Oryza, Coex, Reflection, and Solaris from The Missing Dining Table creative collection.

Botanica is one of the creative set of disposable cutlery that comes in the form of a plant with “leaves” that can be picked off to use as forks and spoons. It makes also the dining table more elegant with its lovely shape.

Venus is a dual-sided plate which works with finger foods and sweets on one side and holds pasta or soup on the other side. It’s pretty convenient when there is not much space for different kind plates.

Singular is the plate holder for people who like to eat alone, it also lets you lose yourself in a good book or on your device as you dine on the go.

Oryza is another disposable, hassle-free dining ware that opens up into different sides to eat while you’re standing around and talking. You can easily eat with one hand and keep your food close to you.

Coex is a perfect multiple furniture for those living alone in a small area, it works as a side table and a stool simply by flipping it over.

Reflection lets you eat with your pets. The design synchronizes meals your pet’s meal with yours with an embedded sensor that’s triggered when a plate of food is set on the table. When that happens, it triggers the pet food dispenser and camera so you and your companion can dine face-to-face. It is also possible to use it as a table for working.
