Covet Edition magazine is pleased to present Glenn Pushelberg and George Yabu and their design firm. First of all, Yabu Pushelberg is an international design firm, with studios in Toronto and SoHo, New York, founded in 1980 by Glenn Pushelberg and George Yabu.

George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg met while studying interior design at Toronto’s Ryerson University. They went on to become partners, establishing Yabu Pushelberg in 1980. Now the multiple award-winning design firm, with offices in New York and Toronto, has become world renowned for its luxurious, richly textured hotel, restaurant, and retail projects which include The London Edition hotel and the Park Hyatt New York , which opened this month.

Completing soon is The Waldorf Astoria in Beijing and the Miami Edition. The pair have homes in Miami, Toronto and New York – a city which they particularly love for its inherently optimistic spirit.

The awards of Yabu Pushelberg

George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg received the Order of Canada for their contributions to design excellence internationally, in December, 2013. They were named by Town & Country magazine as two of the “101 People You Must Meet in 2011” and by Condé Nast Traveler magazine as the “Hot Interior Design Firm” of 2011, Platinum Circle Award, for their exceptional achievement in the hospitality industry, as well as the James Beard Foundation award for Excellence in Restaurant Design. In 2001, George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg were together named Designer of the Year by Contract Magazine.
