Kettal‘s raison d’être is the creation of timeless furniture, functional and expressive, which represents a contemporary culture and provides solutions to the emerging needs of modern life, based on a blend of creativity, customisation, innovation and modern production. The brand works with the most important names in the international design scene, including Patricia Urquiola, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Rodolfo Dordoni, Doshi Levien, Hella Jongerlius, Jasper Morrison, Michel Charlot or Emiliana Design studio, who collectively have contributed to what is a well-rounded, innovative and unique collection.

The headquarters of the group is located in the centre of Barcelona, Spain, and the brand is present in over 60 countries. Kettal prides itself on European made quality with all of its products manufactured in the firm’s plant. The in-house manufacturing allows a close attention to detail as well as the ability to customise to meet clients’ needs, making each piece of furniture unique and exclusive.

The new Riva collection of outdoor furniture is, above all, about achieving a certain atmosphere for the better enjoyment of outdoor space. The plank construction of seat and back follows a long and varied tradition of outdoor chairs made in similar ways, and which, in this case, provide a high level of comfort and good looks. The Riva collection is a complete collection, including dining armchairs, club armchair, dining tables, two seater sofa, three seater sofa, small tables and a deckchair, all made in teak.

The collection was designed by Jasper Morrison. Born in 1959 in London, the designer studied at the Royal College of Art in London. He pursued further studies at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin on a fellowship and, in 1986, he founded his own design studio in London. Jasper Morrison became a leading figure of “New Simplicity”, a movement that advocated a more modest and also more serious approach to design. In addition to furniture, he has also created lamps, home accessories, textiles and a tram system for the city of Hanover, among other projects.
