The collection is entitled Plateau and features a comprehensive range of bathroom products. The inspiration behind the design of these pieces was the idea of playing and experimenting with shapes and colors in order to create stylish designs that are both useful and versatile – “That’s how a sidetracking plateau came up, becoming the stylistic leitmotif for the entire collection.”
Functional and elegant, this detail is a feature in every piece from the bathtub and washbasin to the mirrors, the latter of which have a translucent glass detail on the side which gives the impression of a shadow behind.
The oval-shaped bathtub comes with a tray that extends from its sides, according to Herkner, the tray “embodies aesthetic and functionality working as a finer detail as well as useful support to keep your belongings or products close to you whilst you are comfortably soaking in a bath.”
To complement this collection, Herkner designed a set of tactile lamps, the Raso lighting. These unique lighting pieces add an extra layer of light and color to the plateau collection. As a whole, the collection presents a new concept for the bathroom!
Come January, all eyes will be on Herkner as he presents some of his latest creations at Maison et Objet Paris, whilst simultaneously showcasing the manufacturing processes that have always been so close to his heart.
