Baker Introduces Inventive and Elegant New Furniture by Laura Kirar ♦ The new 28-piece Laura Kirar Collection for Baker was presented in April at the Spring 2018 International Home Furnishings Market in High Point and it includes dramatic new mirrors, superbly crafted occasional tables, voluptuous sofas, and handsome armchairs.

The 28-piece collection is her fourth work for Baker. It was designed and planned in close collaboration with Baker’s highly knowledgeable craftsmen and artisans and features outstanding handcrafted details and complex new silhouettes.

The first collaboration of the internationally renowned interior designer with the premier luxury furnishings manufacturer and designer Baker happened in 2006, in 2010 in 2014 and now in 2018.

With each superbly planned collection, her designs have received universal praise from top designers and leading editors, and given commercial accolades worldwide. At the heart of each collection are designs informed by Kirar’s deep research into design and style history, as well as her background in fine arts and crafts.

Now her deep immersion in Mexican culture, design and pre-Columbian architecture are influencing her collections. The Yucatan, where she lives part of the year, and all the beauty that unfolds around it has woven itself into Kirar’s aesthetic.

Her clean, simple shapes, generous proportions and the integrity of superb craftsmanship remain – but now they are infused with brilliant color, organic references and a wealth of materials like onyx and cerused oak selected for their casual, yet luxurious style.
