Bagatelle Unveils its United Kingdom Debut in the Heart of Mayfair ♦ Contemporary French restaurant Bagatelle has unveiled its United Kingdom debut in the heart of Mayfair last month. Founded by global entrepreneurs Aymeric Clemente and Remi Laba in 2008, Bagatelle’s first London hotspot will open on Dover Street, bringing the exclusive New York dining destination to the capital.

In the heart f Mayfair, 34 Dover Street will be transformed into a new and refined destination, gracing the area with modern fine dining and exceptional atmosphere. With neighbors such as Acne, Jimmy Choo and Victoria Beckham, the venue will sprawl across two floors with 120 covers for a sensational dining experience upstairs and have an intimate downstairs lounge, which will be the perfect after-hours drinking spot.

Clemente and Laba have chosen this location for their eleventh Bagatelle with great consideration; consistently ensuring each Bagatelle destination is reminiscent of a bustling Parisian bistro with elegant details in the style of an Hausmanien Parisian apartment and always aligned with their brand ethos, “joie de vivre”.

This ‘facon d’etre’ resonates loudly amongst the global dining scene, targeting the world’s jet-setters, trend makers and food connoisseurs in particular. Expect to see delicate mouldings, intricately coffered ceilings, deep art nouveau mantels and chic lighting that add a certain intimate warmth to the space, making it vibrant and inviting.

Working closely with luxury interior design company, Lambart & Browne who recently designed Bagatelle’s Monte Carlo, focused on creating a spatial energy and emotion, as well as designing balanced and uplifting spaces.

Heavy velvet curtains will frame the arrival area, where the cobalt blue marbled ceiling and a dark bronze Empire crystal chandelier will impact the guests initial experience. Timber floors and an eclectic array of rolling theatrical plaster mouldings, scrolls, cornices and ceiling roses all come together to provide a dramatic backdrop to the contemporary art collection.

Freddy van Zevenbergen, Creative Director & Co-Founder of Lambart & Browne said he loves “to design spaces for escapism, Bagatelle’s ethos embodies this & I wanted to do it justice!”

The classic architecture contrasts with a carefully curated selection of vibrant pop art situated throughout the restaurant from some of the world’s foremost modern artists, brought by Opera Gallery, Bagatelle’s longstanding global art partner.
