Zaha Hadid Architects Set to Built Philharmonic Concert Hall in Russia ⇒ The internationally acclaimed architecture practice, Zaha Hadid Architects has been chosen to design the new Sverdlovsk Philharmonic Concert Hall in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The group of architects led by Patrik Schumacher were selected after an arduous international design competition that was organised by the region’s ministry of construction and infrastructure beating out 47 teams with a unique proposal. ZHA has imagined an exceptional building inspired by the physical characteristics of sound waves.

This new re-interpretation of the building will feature a 1,600-seat concert hall as well as a 400-seat chamber music hall. Both spaces will be located within the surface deformations of the suspended canopy, that appears to float right above the new civic plaza.

As soon as guests enter the building, they will be immediately bestowed with a unique experience solely based on the world of symphony music and the lobby will be a great starting point. In addition, one doesn’t really have a perspective of what the interior and exterior are due to magnificently large glazed facades that provide a unique character to the entire building and enhances the visitors’ experience.

“Russia has been a formative influence on Zaha Hadid Architects’ creative work,” asserted the project director at ZHA, Christos Passas, “from very early in her career, Zaha was attracted to the Russian avant-garde who conceived civic spaces as urban condensers that catalyze a public realm of activity to enrich creativity and community; allowing space itself to enhance our understanding and well-being. these principles are embedded within the design of the new Sverdlovsk Philharmonic concert hall,” concluded Passas.

As a whole, the Philharmonic building was remodelled in order to offer a more inspirational venue, aesthetically speaking, where people can enjoy the wonders of an orchestra concert, but it will also have the purpose of being a public plaza. A true futuristic masterpiece by the genius and creative minds of Zaha Hadid Architects who carry the incredible legacy of one of the best architects to ever exist.
