Das Haus

The “Das Haus – Interiors on Stage” installation is a simulated residential house by Australian designer couple Truly Truly. The trade fair erects a house measuring approximately 180 m² in the middle of the Pure Editions area (Hall 3.1) for this. Each year, the architecture, room structures, furnishings, materials, colours and light installations are all taken from the imagination of a newly nominated designer/design team/architect. It is a complete artistic concept, available for a limited time, which allows a creative’s personal vision of an ideal residential situation to become reality. It is open to every visitor to Imm Cologne 2019 and can be entered, tested out, photographed, experienced and discussed.

The Stage

Every year in January, Hall 3.1 at Koelnmesse is transformed into a meeting place for experts and designers who gather to inform trade show visitors about the latest industry trends and give them insights into future developments in home living. With The Stage, Imm Cologne provides architects, planners, designers and journalists with an information and networking platform that offers them an overview of current interior design trends.

Pure Talents Contest

The Pure Talents Contest, held at Hall 3.1, is conceived exclusively for designers who are still pursuing their studies or have just left university. The competition, organized by Koelnmesse on the occasion of Imm Cologne 2019, offers participants a first step into the interior design business and, furthermore, awards prizes for the best three products in the competition. For the first time, the LivingKitchen Selection will present an exhibition and an additional prize, especially for kitchen products.

Sleep Lounge

With a sense of humour and tongue firmly in cheek, Matratzen-Industrie e.V., the mattress industry association, scrutinised the phenomenon of “one fits all” mattresses at this year’s Sleep Lounge, held at Hall 9, and initiated a discussion about whether standardised products of this kind can really do justice to the diverse needs of end customers.

Future Technology

Future Technology is the smart habitat of tomorrow. Imm Cologne 2019 will showcase a Smart Home: in the form of a real house that is open for visitors to enter and explore. The exhibit offers a whole host of examples showing how smart concepts can be applied in the kitchen. LivingKitchen not only examines how technology is being applied today, but it also addresses issues of relevance for the future, such as the connectivity of individual devices. Look for it at Hall 4.1.
