Translated as ‘doors’ in Arabic, Abwab is an exhibition, architectural installation and a highlight of Dubai Design Week. It’s the only initiative of its kind to offer a platform for design talent from across the Middle East. For the fourth edition, located at the centre of Dubai Design District (d3), Abwab will host a collection of design experiences drawn from five communities in the Middle East; Amman, Beirut, Dubai (supported by Tashkeel), Eastern Provinces of Saudi Arabia (supported by Ithra) and Kuwait City from 13-17 November.

The sixth edition of Downtown Design, the Middle East’s only trade fair dedicated to original, high-quality design, is the biggest and most ambitious to date. With 175 contemporary design brands, including 40 regional designers, the fair presents the largest ever curation of Middle Eastern talent alongside the best of international design. Don’t miss out, from 13-16 November.

The fourth edition of the Global Grad Show, held in partnership with Investment Corporation of Dubai, offers a first look at 150 of the inventions shaping our tomorrow. The ideas come from passionate, upcoming design graduates of 61 nationalities from 100 universities, including Harvard, MIT and RCA. The students use design to find solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues. The show is an inspiring and optimistic look at what is in store for the next generation. Global Grad Show takes place from 13-17 November.

Making Space is a pop-up studio which offers a five-day programme of workshops and children’s activities throughout Dubai Design Week conducted by a wide group of UAE-based, regional and international designers and professional creatives. These diverse workshops provide visitors of all ages the opportunity to sign up, drop in and get hands-on experience of the process behind design and creativity. Don’t miss out, from 13-17 November.

On the Main Stage, designers, creatives and thinkers share their insights through several Talks; from international practitioners to regional influencers. The programme includes a range of keynote presentations, panel discussions and high-level conferences including the Belief in AI, staged in association with Global Grad Show and People Planet Profits sustainability & design conference staged in association with UAE Modern. The keynotes programme includes talks with international innovator Daan Roosegaarde presented by the Dutch Design Center, globally renowned Italian designer Paola Navone and Arab satirist Karl Sharro.
