The last edition of the London Design Festival witnessed the launch of a limited edition collection of the iconic Vanity Fair Armchair by Poltrona Frau, the leader in leather Italian furniture. The brand’s drive to invent new forms and construct solutions and styles has led to the creation of timeless pieces which express a universal yet intimate and personal elegance, and the new collection follows that path.

The limited edition collection is now available in three sizes: Standard, Baby and Mini. The largest of the models serves the world of adults. Inspired by the shade of the traditional Sicilian housing, it captures the essence of Poltrona Frau’s elegant aesthetic. Available only in an edition of 75 pieces, this Standard version is upholstered in a new Pelle Frau Nubuck leather in a sandy shade of grey (Seppia).
Both the Baby (50 pieces) and Mini (100 pieces) versions are upholstered in a colourful fabric which has been specially created by the children of Tolentino, where Poltrona Frau is headquartered, for the children of Favara. Using the children’s artwork as a starting point, Poltrona Frau has developed a playful yet elegant geometric pattern that represents the world of children, their energy and their creative freedom.
The 225-piece collection has been specially designed to support the construction of the Farm Children’s Museum in Favara, a part of the town that has been transformed from semi-abandonment into a modern art and cultural destination by art-focused charity, the FARM Cultural Park. A destination for children of all ages, as well as adults, Farm Children’s Museum will offer educational activities where children will have the opportunity to learn by using their creativity and their hands through exploring colours and materials. “Investing in our children’s future is crucial. I am proud that Poltrona Frau is investing in the creative education of children through our partnership with FARM Cultural Park. At Poltrona Frau, we place value and emphasis on hand-craftsmanship and the Farm Children’s Museum which will teach creativity through a hands-on approach shares this commitment”, said Nicola Coropulis, Brand Director of Poltrona Frau.

The collection is just one dimension of an ongoing collaboration between Poltrona Frau and FARM Cultural Park. Over the past year and a half, the company has also developed a worldwide workshop program which was launched in London during LDF this September and embark on a global tour, led by a renowned design industry figure in each city, before culminating in an exhibition in Favara in late 2018.
