From 17 to 22 April 2018, Minotti will stand strong in Hall 7, Stands E15/E27/F18/F20, at Milan Design Week 2018. This year, the luxury brand will present a collection coordinated by Rodolfo Dordoni. According to Minotti, new conceptual philosophies looking to the future give life to an eclectic collection defined by its international imprint. The collection features four designers as protagonists – Rodolfo Dordoni, Christophe Delcourt, Marcio Kogan and Nendo -, all with their distinct cultural roots.

The first unveiled designer “comes from Asia”. Sato Oki is a Japanese designer and architect and the head of the design office Nendo. Oki was born in Toronto, Canada, as his father’s job took the family there. He graduated from the Department of Architecture, at the School of Science and Engineering of Waseda University, as the top student in 2000. In 2002, just after completing his academic course, he established Nendo. His wide range of works includes product design, interior design, architecture, graphic design and corporate branding. Newsweek Magazine named him as one of the “100 Japanese People Respected by the World” in 2006 and his office as one of the “100 Japanese SMEs Receiving Worldwide Attention” in 2007, respectively. In 2015, he was awarded “Designer of the Year” at Maison et Objet Paris, the largest interior design trade fair in Europe.

On 21 March, Minotti revealed its second choice. Marcio Kogan is the founding architect and professor of the team at Studio mk27. He was born in the chaotic city of São Paulo and graduated from FAU-Mackenzie in 1976. Kogan is a guest professor at the Politecnico di Milano and Escola da Cidade, where he recently concluded his Master in Education, Society and Culture. He worked as a movie director until after he shot his first long feature in 1988. Then, bankrupt, he had to content himself with being an architect. He is the author of all the projects of studio mk27 and is an honorary member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) and of the Council of the Museum of Art of São Paulo (MASP).

The third revelation came two days after, on 23 March. Christophe Delcourt is not only a committed and daring designer, he also is an ardent defender of the French craft industry. He launched his own furnishing company in the late 90’s, which soon stood out with its pieces of furniture combining elegant lines and raw materials. To him, every new furniture collection is like an opportunity to reconsider his work through a slightly different point of view. Both designer and editor, Christophe Delcourt regularly surrounds himself with the work of designers sharing his taste for timeless lines and exceptional know how. Through time, his catalogue enriched itself with some pieces of furniture exclusively designed by François Champsaur, Jean-Pierre Tortil, Tristan Auer, Laurent Nicolas and Vincent Dupont-Rougier.

The final revelation was of the collection coordinator himself. Rodolfo Dordoni, architect and designer, was born in Milan, where he graduated in Architecture. For many years, Dordoni was the head of Art Direction of many brands, such as Artemide, Cappellini and Minotti. He also designs for different companies, such as Dada, Dornbracht, Flou, Kartell, Kettal, Molteni&C, Poliform or Poltrona Frau. Dordoni Architects works in the architecture field and the interior design of residential, commercial and exhibition sectors. Minotti started working with the Milanese architect and designer back in 1997 and, collection after collection, this cooperation continues to strengthen the identity of a brand whose distinguishing feature is continuity.
