Ferdinand by OEO Studio for Brdr. Krüger will debut at IMM Cologne 2018 in an updated smoked oak with a brown leather seat. The vision with Ferdinand was to create a signature design that reflects contemporary sensibilities while honouring the legacy of 20th-century design. Woodturning is a key element of the structural design, a technique combining classic craftsmanship with high-tech manufacturing. The result is a bold and distinct design with the backrest and the frame effortlessly melting together. With two centuries of design tradition meeting in one composition, the lounge chair is named after one of the founding Krüger brothers, Ferdinand.
Theodor is a new take on the Œarchetypical Danish chair that has played an important part in the resonance and significance of the Danish Modern movement throughout the world. It is inspired by the enduring qualities of the Danish golden era, yet reflecting contemporary sensibilities and uniting classic values with a new perspective. The Theodor Dining Chair won the German Design Award in the Excellent Product design category this year. For IMM Cologne 2018, the chair will be shown in a new oiled oak variant with a textile seat.
Originally sketched in 1958 by Hans Bølling, the TRIIIO Table Series was reworked in close collaboration with the Danish architect and put into production for the first time by Brdr. Krüger in 2017. The simple and elegant amendments to Bøllings original design have transformed the original idea into a series of tables with a timeless quality. The TRIIIO Table is available in three variants, coffee table, side table and dining table and for IMM, the dining table will be presented in an oiled oak with a bronze glass top and the coffee table will be shown in walnut wood with a bronze glass top.
The Pauline Bar Stool has a slim silhouette and distinct personality and will be shown at IMM in both a smoked oak and oiled oak versions combined with a minimal footrest and brown leather seat. The bar stool was made in close collaboration between Brdr. Krüger and OEO Studio and has an inherent international feel and timeless aesthetic.
Designed by Danish architect Hans Bølling in 1963, the Bølling Tray Table is a symbol of playful functionalism from the Danish Modern era and a design idea that is still relevant today a true Danish classic. The flexible table can be used in a range of ways, as a serving trolley, side table or bar cart. The two reversible trays can be turned for colour variation, with a wide variety of colours to choose from. At IMM the piece will be shown in oiled and smoked oak, with trays in black and white colourways.
The ever-popular Lune Table and Pendant Lamp fuse together woodturning tradition, natural materials and modern technology. The perfectly rounded shade made from solid oak is beautifully contrasted by the contemporary LED light source. The result is a modern light with a tactile and welcoming feel. For IMM the Lune Lamp will be shown in a smoked oak and the Lune Pendant Lamp will be shown in oiled oak.
The F Chair is a contemporary shaker chair based on the virtues of traditional craft. It carries on the folksy simplicity and honesty of the archetypal shaker chair, but with a modern comfort and clean-cut, geometrical and minimalistic appearance. For IMM the F Chair will be shown in a new oiled oak version.
