Concours of Elegance to Feature Aston Martin’s Most Iconic Cars

Concours of Elegance 2018 to Feature Aston Martin’s Most Iconic Cars ⇒ The Concours of Elegance 2018, held at the fabulous Hampton Court Palace in London, will take place from the 31st of August to the 2nd of September. This year’s edition will have the addition of some star Aston Martin’s, with more than 100 DBs set to celebrate the model line’s 70th birthday.

Concours of Elegance 2018 Announces Date

The focus of the event will be the cars, around 60 of the world’s finest luxury cars will be present to fill the gardens of the venue. The main award of the three-day event is Best of Show, which is awarded by the owners themselves instead of a group of judges. Each of them has a single vote that comes attached with the responsibility of choosing a winner.

Another award is the Club Trophy, which is awarded to the most impressive winner of club concours events from all over the UK. The winner of the Club Trophy is awarded an extended invitation to next year’s Concours of Elegance.

The guest are able to explore the Hampton Court Palace grounds and the field of cars. There’s also a display of products from luxury brands, so the avid shoppers can also have some fun.

One of the first confirmed cars was the 1929 Mercedes-Benz S Barker “Boat Tail”, that is making its’ return to the UK for the first time in the last 60 years. This car was originally owned by BRDC co-founder Earl Howe and was based on a 1927 Mercedes S-Type. The car has a lightweight and aerodynamic body, with aluminium side pods.

As a celebration of the 70th anniversary of Aston Martin’s DB models, there will be four extremely especial Astons included in the main concours, including an early DB2 DHC – also known as the “Royal Aston Martin” – as well as a 1937 Aston Martin 15/98 Tourer and a rare right-hand-drive DB5 convertible. The celebration continues in the grounds, with an expectancy of more than 100 DB-badged Aston Martins in a line-up organized by the Aston Martin Owners Club.
