Rug’Society aims to bring covering solutions that double as art pieces, presenting bold and contemporary designs, always thinking ahead, that are able to adapt to trends and still to offer unique and iconic rugs. The brand’s goal is to revive the classic and memorable arts by bringing them from the past with a fresh and modern design, fitting both contemporary and future décor trends.
The world in 2020 took a tumble and with social contact being something to be avoided, we had to find another way to stay connected and most of all, we had to find new ways to get inspired.
For interior designers and design lovers all around, the primary way to be connected is through design fairs, however, this year it was impossible to do so, hence we had to adapt to the changes and to the new challenges presented by the pandemic. Rug’Society covered the distance, created the bridge, to still be connected and close to our clients through the use of virtual meetings; and due to this, we were able to discover and conquer twenty new markets where our beautiful rugs were the centre of attention.
Rug’Society got closer to its stakeholders through the use of what best unites us all – social media. Our social media was always fresh, with new content coming out every day, so our rug lovers and loyal customers still felt connected to us and us with them. Additionally, the brand launched a webpage dedicated to inspiring its viewers. Room by Room showcases inspirations with rugs in all home divisions and in different design styles and applications to help those who browse through feel inspiration flow easier than a river stream.
This year, the brand also launched a new collection – the Urban Collection – where urban art was the centre stage inspiration for these rugs. Graphited street walls influenced this collection and then graphic designers transformed what was already an art form into a unique rug. This collection had a great impact on social media as it celebrated a type of art considered, by many, to be a form of vandalism. Graffiti is the oldest art form in the history of humanity, considering that we have been doing it since the first humans inhabited this planet and lived-in caves.
2020 was also a year of new opportunities and recognition. Rug’Society was one of the few honoured brands to re-furniture the Portuguese Prime Minister Official Residence, Palácio de Belém, in a partnership with MUDE: Design em São Bento. This project celebrates the traditional, handcrafted Portuguese design, acknowledging interior design brands that do it exceptionally by presenting the opportunity of furnishing a beautiful, esteemed and historic residence with Antelope rug.
The brand believes in constant innovation and in keeping moving forward, so Rug’Society is going to continue to look for new designs, techniques and inspirations to create a rug with new designs, materials and shapes. The new creations in line have a higher diversity in shapes such as square and runner rugs, a tone-by-tone collection and many others that will be unveiled over the next year.
Rug’Society’s unique design service is something which very much helps our clients with their projects. So, with this in mind, in 2021 the brand’s strategy will focus on investing more and more in this area, thus making the clients’ dream rug a reality. Rug’Society believes that every decor item is a representation of a personality trait, and what is better than a rug to express your personality and make a home truly yours?
As another way of being closer to the stakeholders, Rug’Society is going to become even more digital, offering a virtual world and digital tools to continue the inspirational journey with design books, guides, and much more, while still being able to receive our most esteemed clients in Porto, Portugal at Covet Douro and Covet Valley, in London at Covet London, as well as in Paris at Covet Paris.
In 2021, Rug’Society will continue true to its values: artistic vision, craftsmanship and the cultural arts. These three values are the main ingredients for the brand’s successful recipe of reviving the classic and memorable arts with a décor item as simple as a rug; keeping the handcrafted tradition alive and thriving; always seeking inspirations that are unique and different, iconic even, in our day-to-day life that sometimes people overlook, but our designers capture the moment and record it in a rug that is both timeless and modern, eclectic and contemporary, personal and unique. Rug’Society offers more than covering solutions, it offers art pieces that will transform, inspire and transcend any room, just like a great painting.
