Molteni&C renews its partnership with Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen, known for his rigorous minimalist design, and will be at the 56th Salone del Mobile with an exhibition space of over 1200 square metres. The stand takes its inspiration from a large home environment, where the living areas communicate with the dining areas, interspersed with green spaces and high-impact floor-to-ceiling glazing. The stand continues with a final scenic loft, a contemporary take on a modern home interpreted by the Nordic designer. The 2017 Collection includes numerous projects, designed by Vincent Van Duysen, Jean Nouvel, Ron Gilad, Rodolfo Dordoni, Foster + Partners, Dante Bonuccelli, MDT (Molteni Design Team) and the Molteni R&D centre, plus exclusive Gio Ponti reissues, in partnership with the Gio Ponti Archives.
The Gliss Master series of wardrobes, designed by Vincent van Duysen in 2016, extends its possibilities, offering a wardrobe with advanced features where the main focus is on the materials. Innovative finishes for the frame (Raffia), the back panels (Fine Grain or Raffia) and the doors (Graffiato bronze or silica). Something completely new is an all-glass back panel that is inserted into a metal frame where a patented hinge enables it to open 180°, with Glass doors and transparent glass side panels, fully glazed wardrobes can be achieved and also wood or lacquered doors with new (Niche) handles. There is a new design for the raised sets of drawers, also in a doublesided version, featuring a practical handle (Hold) with Ecopelle or Fine Grain finish front panels. In addition, these wardrobes feature new Ecopelle and glass shelves with or without LED lighting. Fine grain is a new, sumptuous and exclusive lacquer finish on a printed surface that can also be used for drawer back and front. An exclusive Molteni&C design – starting from a gold base, five coats of varnish are applied with special intermediate satinising and sanding.

Source: Molteni Following the success of Gliss Master, Vincent Van Duysen has designed Master Dressing, a walk-in wardrobe system that completes the wide range of nightime systems offered by Molteni&C. Master Dressing perfectly complements the Gliss Master wardrobes thanks to the use of coordinated internal fittings and aesthetic finishes, thereby providing functional and impactful walk-in closets. A distinctive structural feature is a new rack system to which wooden, lacquered, Fine Grain or glass back panels can be hooked. The system is fitted with newly designed shelf support rods that will take 30 mm thick Ecopelle and illuminated glass shelves, or 40 mm thick wooden shelves. In there, you can find newly designed sets of drawers, new tie and foulard rack accessories. More, there is a brand new “Vanity” compartment, complete with large illuminated LED mirror.

ANTON design Vincent Van Duysen is a bed that perfectly expresses Vincent Van Duysen’s design philosophy, where essentiality and carefully chosen materials achieve a perfect synthesis. The bed holds a delicate but clean lines for a harmonious aesthetic balance as the result of reducing anything superfluous. Carefully studied details with delicate but clear lines transmit an impact of fascinating charm and evoke strong suggestions of a decisive, contemporary furnishing scheme. Volumes are emphasized by the capitoné, revised in a contemporary way. Feet are finished in pewter. Upholstery can be completely detachable in the Molteni&C range of leather and textiles. At last, Anton can be combined with a bench with identical frame finishings and matching upholstery.
The Teorema project is the solid part of a void. It is the flip side of Grado°, the collection that explores the form of a void. It is the mould as design, the template transferred and shifted that becomes micro architecture, and exceeds all disciplinary boundaries. A unit made of American walnut with open compartments or drawers used as a single unit or stacked in a linear or offset mode, to create night tables, chests of drawers or modular systems for the living area.
