Historic London Residence

For the design of this 40,000 sq ft majestic stucco-fronted private home, overlooking London’s leafy Hyde Park, Katharine has drawn on the property’s illustrious past. Previously an important ambassador’s residence – with dilapidated historic mouldings, marble staircases and parquet and marble flooring throughout – it was purchased for full renovation by an existing client. One of Katharine’s most highly detailed and more opulent interiors, every facet of this jewel of a property has been designed to be reinstated, refurbished or created anew for a client with tremendous vision. Truly one of London’s finest homes, Katharine has been honoured to design its interior.
The Pearl Villa

The Pearl is a magnificent contemporary coastal villa set against the sapphire crystal clear waters of the Persian Gulf. Masterminded by Katharine and her team over four years, every detail of the interior and architectural design exists in perfect harmony. The KPL team was responsible for Project Management, Interior Architecture, Interior Design and Home Dressing. The package consisted of full architectural detailing, design and finish specification, full procurement and fit-out. The Pearl is an example of KPL’s totally turn-key service – every single detail was considered, designed and seamlessly installed. The finished design exudes a perfect balance of space, light and luxurious detail and showcases the best of British craftsmanship in an international setting.

Princes Gate

This large lateral apartment with panoramic views overlooking London’s leafy Hyde Park was completely redesigned by Katharine for a returning client. The brief was to create an impressive and luxurious interior that played on the Art Deco facade of the property and incorporated the client’s love of exquisite detail and rare finishes. Katharine used inlaid bronze detailing, classic Italian marbles and high gloss walnuts and maple woods to create a luxurious feel with strong masculine overtones in keeping with the glamorous lifestyle of this client who loves to entertain. The final result was a highly detailed and opulent interior which is the perfect backdrop for an impressive and eclectic art collection.
Knightsbridge Home

A truly magnificent home has been created to Katharine’s design in a grand stucco-fronted Grade II listed building on one of Knightsbridge’s most peaceful garden squares. The property’s interior was meticulously refurbished and designed over a short period of time for a returning client. The proportions and ceiling heights of the principal rooms are superb, the drawing-room is especially notable with its exquisite marble fireplace, fine plasterwork, and Murano glass chandelier. Three sets of French windows lead on to a traditional wrought iron and chequerboard-tiled balcony, providing views towards the immaculate communal gardens. Marble bathrooms, the stunning bronze lacquer kitchen, and chevron parquet floors throughout complete a highly luxurious picture of refined elegance.

Mayfair Residence

This rare gem of a property in the centre of Mayfair consists of 7 floors of the property, including a basement and a roof terrace. Previously an office, Katharine Pooley helped redevelop this Grade II listed property into a contemporary family home. The redesign included extensive building works and project management with features including a glass lift shaft, several bespoke chandeliers, hand-painted and embroidered wallpapers and complete designs for all spaces, including 7 bathrooms and a white onyx spa.
The Clarence

A wonderful residential interior architectural design development completed by Katharine Pooley introducing “The Clarence at St James House, London”. Its proximity to royalty makes St. James’s House truly unique. One of the most important addresses in London, which overlooks St. James’s Palace, is a stone’s throw to Buckingham Palace, and with direct views of the main entrance to Pall Mall. It is a landmark Grade II* listed building and Katharine Pooley and her team of designers and interior architects were called on to create an interior befitting the impeccable architecture while staying true to its faultless heritage. The final design has a quintessentially English feel updated to reflect the requirements of the international global elite. Katharine’s brief was to transform the magnificent building into an elegant residence and return it back from the dilapidated office building it had become to its original splendour. This was an incredibly detailed and laborious process as so much of the fabric of the building was of national importance. The project has taken 5 years to complete.
