Rebel House Design starts with mood boards to get the tone just right, then graduates to specific selections choreographed into a dynamic presentation that breaks down the firm’s design ideas, your budget, and timeline to bite-size components. Owners Marli and Michael are perfectionists, pushing their team to deliver a well-crafted product down to the smallest millwork or accessory detail, delighting clients and creating life-long relationships.

They know it can be downright daunting for homeowners, so Rebel House Design keeps it fun. RHD will step in to take the guesswork out of your project. Meet The Team

Marli Jones | Creative Director & Owner

Before creating Rebel House LLC, Marli worked as a senior designer for prominent West Coast design firm Martha Angus LLC. After five years working in design in the Bay Area, Marli moved to Chicago, IL to be the senior designer for the real estate development group AJ Capital Partners. At AJ Capital Partners, Marli was part of a creative team that developed a collection of boutique hotels across the United States. While at AJCP, Marli also worked on the gut renovation of the historic hotel Pontchartrain in downtown New Orleans.

Marli grew up in the art world of Chicago and Europe. Her parents are photo-realist painters. Her exposure from a young age to a variety of well-crafted interiors sparked a passion for design. While studying fine art and graphic design, she trained with artists showing at galleries in NYC and Art Basel. Marli has built life-long relationships with artists, furniture makers, and craftsmen from around the globe and she brings these relationships to Rebel House. Marli holds a dual BA in Fine Art and American Studies from Illinois Wesleyan University and an MFA in Interior Architecture from the Academy of Art.

Michael Kreuser | Managing Director & Owner

Michael handles business development, billing, and operations for Rebel House. Before joining Rebel House, Michael served as a Senior Producer for a content creation firm in Chicago where Michael worked on marketing content for various sports media and prominent west coast designers, event planners, and tastemakers.

Michael holds a Master’s degree in communications. Skilled at organizing timelines and deliverables into actionable, bite-sized items for our production and design team, Michael is a proven asset to Rebel House’s project management success. Michael brings organization from detailing project bids to working through contractor bids to operating monthly billing. Michael holds a BA from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master’s in Communications from the Academy of Art.
