The Zabeel House is a lifestyle hotel in Jumeirah, Dubai. It features themes of luxury, eclectic substances, traditional motifs to all guests, from business executives, to families and travelers. CovetED Magazine takes you inside this inspiring interior design project by Zabeel House and learn how it came to life and its amazing interior decor. Enjoy!
The grand lobby presents guests with a breathtaking expanse that ignites engagement and social activity. They are surrounded by a vast array of Avant-Garde furniture, such as handcrafted chairs, ethnically charming rugs and traditional Arabic finishes. Wire mesh ceiling panels and concrete effect tiles provide a surreal experience.
The distinct Jumeirah aesthetic flows from the lobby to the all-day dining area, giving the space an ethereal sense of connection without compromising each area’s individualistic integrity.
The wide-open expanse is controlled by clever shelving units with bespoke accessories that help divide the area into private spaces for separate groups. The setting is transitional and conveniently flexible because of the bar unit that can be screened at specific times, thereby allowing guests to have a refreshing experience throughout the day.
The Business Center features an open-planned layout that mimics communication-encouraging work environments that enhance collaboration and engagement. Inspired by the Hoxton in London, the exposed ceiling ducts and wire mesh ceiling panels create an industrial and urban aesthetic. Just like in the lobby, middle-eastern accents, like earthy tones and ornamental carpets, captivate the audience.
Mimicking a blend of traditional Arabic highlights and functional modern aspects, the health club and spa features a design that boasts exposed ceilings, concrete flooring, and reclaimed timber slats. These urban characteristics are softened with Arabic artwork and décor that channel incandescence through the corridors, into the changing rooms and contribute to the wellness treatments.

The hotel’s design ignites sparks of interaction that can make relaxation treatments all the more effective. A unique example of this is the recessed seating that lines the health club corridor, allowing for guests to pause, take a deep breath, and interact with the people around them.
The luxurious suites are inspired by the timeless New York lofts; having a visually integrated bathroom area that forms the illusion of more depth and vibes of urban functionality. In the rooms, you can experience a warm and wholesome material palette, as the design swaps concrete surfaces with earthy substances like oak. This delivers a homely radiance, further accentuated with eccentric décor and luminaries. Again, traditional artwork and ornamental rugs transform the loft into a cultural haven that adds a sense of personality to the space.
Zabeel House also features a Pan Asian restaurant, LahLah, which serves guests with Asian cuisine in an unexpected urban, back-to-the-basics environment. Here, guests are surrounded by street art that adorns the walls, a bar constructed of reclaimed red bricks, and scaffolding shelves holding Asian artifacts. The restaurant highlights quirky Koi fish painted throughout the interior to add a charismatic charm, while Japanese slang carved into the reclaimed timber creates a vibe of informality and sense of identity. These elements adequately emulate the Millennial crowd, the main target audience LahLah aims to engage.
