CovetED was welcomed to the rooftop of the Hotel Zoo Berlin for a marvellous dining experience. A green oasis, with some of the best views of all Berlin. Rising over Kurfürstendam, the famous shopping boulevard at the hear of the city, the area offered a spacious lounge and bar areas, bearing an unmistakable signature of the NYC & LA-based interior architect Dayna Lee.
The refreshing cocktails from Grace Bar were carefully selected and masterfully crafted by top mixologists from a menu of high-quality drinks, over a background and sunset music from the DJs.
On the interior, Grace Bar offers an unmatchable glamour and refined Art Deco Vibe from the roaring 20s, and experience in the same hotel the vibe and magnificent aura that some of Germany’s most famous people like Marlene Dietrich sipped champagne.
Exuding glamour, the Grace Bar offers a perfect balance between the hip and the historic, where the designer combined details like exposed brick walls, green leather armchairs, violet wall panels, an amethyst bar top and a mirrored backboard to create the feeling of the old Hollywood glamour era.
A nice touch to the bar was the outside area, the winter garden, a courtyard with a five-meter long fireplace and tall windows that made it easier to keep an eye on the action inside.
Also designed by architect Danya Lee, the dining area of Grace Restaurant resembles and is inspired by the style of a New York townhouse, a chic and sophisticated setting, where the flavours blend with the appealing and fantastic aesthetic.
The divine food from the Grace Restaurant, exquisitely prepared by the renowned Chef Martin Bruhn, draws his inspiration for the delicious menu from his travels to the culinary capitals of the world. Every dish you can feel the emanating palate of different cultures and influences, like Bangkok, Paris, Tokyo and Mexico City. Chef Bruhn brings these experiences to the Grace Restaurant dishes.
Among the classics of Bruhn’s like the creamy rock shrimp, of the out of this world Maine lobster is truly to die for, but the Wagyu beef with black truffle, soy, and sesame is one of the most memorable steaks in Berlin. These dishes represent the Chef’s influences with the international cuisine, creating marvellous, rich and tasteful delicacies.
Along with these classics, Bruhn is also constantly inventing dishes, so with every stay, you’ll have the opportunity to experience something new.
Besides the excellency of the food, the kitchen’s innovative approach is also reflected also on the wine menu. Rather than focusing on the typical and familiar wines from France or Italy, the sommelier Ben Weidenberg seeks out rarities and new flavours from all over the world that complement and elevate the overall dining experience.
