CovetED Selects The Best Oscars 2018 Red Carpet Looks – Los Angeles stood up late last night to the most important night of the year: the Oscars 2018. We could say the award show went as expected, with the presumable winners taking home the golden statue. The Shape of Water and its director, Guillermo del Toro, were the biggest winners of the night, taking home the Oscar for best motion picture and best director. Gary Oldman took home the Oscar for best male actor in a leading role in The Darkest Hour and Francis Macdorman as the leading Actress in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. It was a fantastic night for cinema, the ultimate celebration of the best in business. But there’s a complete paralleled show to the ceremony itself, the Red Carpet. There were some good looks, some bad ones and our favourite ones. Now, CovetED Magazine will present you the absolute best looks of yesterday’s red carpet. Check them out!
Since the Academy Awards is considered the biggest night in film, unforgettable celebrity beauty looks from the show’s red carpet are pretty much a given. The 2018 Oscars was no different, calling for Hollywood’s biggest to wear hair and makeup looks of cinematic proportions. A few examples: Allison Williams’s shimmery eyeshadow and Margot Robbie’s wavy bob were award-worthy, must-see looks from the night.
Lupita Nyongo brought the Wakanda look to the red carpet beautiful bronze Versace dress. One of our absolute favourites for sure!
Ellen Mirren looked stunning in this long, fitted blue dress. The cinema’s grand dame was spotted on the red carpet taking tequila shots and fans went nuts. She truly is an icon.
Gal Gadot looked like she just came from a Great Gatsby themed party and we just loved it. The beautiful metallic dress was designed by no other than Givenchy.
Eiza Gonzales looked effortlessly chic in this Ralph Lauren yellow-fitted gown. The beautiful Mexican actress was an absolute show-stopper at the red carpet.
Also rocking a Roaring Twenties look was the ever-stunning Jennifer Lawrence, with a metallic Dior long dress and a bold red lip.
Zendaya looked absolutely beautiful in this Greek-style gown by Alyssa Bailey.
The singer St. Vincent brought the rock-n-roll quirk to the red carpet with this bold look by Yves Saint-Laurent.
The Queen Jane Fonda looked incredibly good in this white, long Chopard gown. You can’t go wrong with Chopard, and Jane sure knows it.
Despite not being her night at the ceremony (she was nominated for best actress in a leading role with I, Tonya) Margot Robie sure won the Red Carpet show. Wearing a long Chanel gown, the Aussie looked effortlessly beautiful. With some bling accents and a short hairdo, the I, Tonya star showed everyone what a red carpet look is.
