The popular NYCxDESIGN design festival took place on Monday, May 20th, and counted with more than 700 guests gathered at Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan. The purpose of this annual event is to celebrate design by honouring the best design projects either created or shown in New York City. NYCxDESIGN needs no introduction – the design event attracts more than 347,000 attendees and sponsors over 400 events. – This year’s edition took place on May 20th (Monday), where more than 700 guests gathered at Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan, to once again celebrate the winners of this annual event presented by Interior Design and ICFF.

After a brief introduction by the NYCEDC’s CMO Edward Hogikyan and ICFF director Kevin O’Keefe, Interior Design Editor in Chief Cindy Allen resumed her duties as M.C. of the event. This year she had over 200 finalists in the products category to announce, as well as over 100 projects. Winners of each respective category were awarded the highly-coveted Lladró Guest figurine.

The awards ceremony started with product winners, which included the Vettis’ concrete bath fitting collection from Brizo, Astek’s ceramics-inspired Re-Glazed wallcovering collection with interior designer Jeff Andrews, and Buoyant NYC’s quartz and onyx stone DELLA Sconce.

The full list of winners is rich and vast and includes names such as – Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Rockwell Group behemoth for ‘The Shed’; Laufen for ‘Sonar Wave Bowl Double’; Ralph Pucci for ‘Dee’; Minotti for ‘Quadrado by Studio MK27’; Moroso for ‘Tape’; B&B Italia for Eda-Mame; Kohler Co. for ‘Ombré Finish’; Moooi for ‘BFF’.
