Forecasting Trends in Geneva at Watches and Wonders 2024

April 8, 2024

Watches and Wonders 2024 is scheduled to take place in Geneva, spanning from April 9 to April 15. It will welcome the public for three days, from April 13 to 15, while the initial four days are reserved for trade professionals and press. Although the lineup of participating brands for the 2024 edition has yet to be disclosed, this event, formerly known as Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, has grown to fill the void left by the discontinued Baselworld, emerging as the foremost and most comprehensive fair in the watch industry calendar.

Last year saw 38 brands in attendance. Notable additions include Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Chopard, augmenting the traditional stalwarts represented by Richemont brands such as Cartier, Piaget, Lange & Söhne, Panerai, and Jaeger-LeCoultre, collectively embodying the pinnacle of Swiss (and German) watchmaking. Complementing these are independent brands showcased in the Carré des Horlogers, featuring names like Laurent Ferrier, Ferdinand Berthoud, Ressence, and Speake-Marin.

LVMH brands like TAG Heuer and Hublot, along with Rolex’s sibling brand Tudor, joined the fair two years ago. Anticipation surrounds the potential participation of Breitling and Bulgari, who have yet to confirm their presence officially. There’s also hope for the inclusion of Swatch Group brands like Omega and Longines, although no announcements have been made by the group to confirm their participation.

The event encompasses specialized watchmaking exhibitions, panel discussions, and brand keynote presentations, alongside a daily broadcast known as the Morning Show. During this segment, brand executives will conduct interviews, discussing trends and showcasing their latest collections. Last year, the “Late Show” provided a recap of the keynotes delivered by participating brands, hosted in the auditorium, along with highlights of the exceptional timepieces unveiled each day.
