It was at the exclusive Moongata Showroom, that the very first edition of the Moongata Design Awards took place. Organised by Nuevo Estilo Magazine and Casa Decor, the event took place at the heart of Barrio de las Letras, in Madrid, during the Decor-Accion Week. The aim of these awards lies in recognising the emerging talent and creativity of the next generation of design. The design awards show was originated from the collaboration between BRABBU and IED Madrid Design School alongside the coveted showroom.

Alfredo Díaz, Celia Terrón, Ini Archibong and José Usero

The experienced jury was comprised of Alfredo Díaz, founder of MOONGATA, Iván Vidal, director of the School of Design, IED Madrid, Sara Lança, brand manager of luxury brand, Brabbu (Covet House), Marta Riopérez, director of Nuevo Estilo and Elle Decor Spain magazines, Nuria March, CEO of NM Communicación, and Ini Archibong, a designer of international prestige from California .

Celia Terrón Alaman, recipient of the Moongata’s major award

Design student, Celia Terron Alaman was presented with the Moongata Design 2017 award, receiving a series of winnings, including an accrediting diploma, a cash prize of 1000€, the opportunity to exhibit and sell the awarded piece at the showroom, and much more.

The Sunset Floor Lamps by Ini Archibong were a part of the decoration for this year’s edition at the Moongata Showroom, creating just the right ambience for a spectacular award ceremony such as this one.
