Considering herself a nomad, Joyce Wang spent part of her life a bit everywhere. Studying in Boston, the UK, and the Royal College of Art, the interior designer got the background, the know-how, and the experience that is much appreciated in the industry. Today, she designs spaces where she feels people can feel great with themselves and have fun in the midst of the confidence provided by the space. The designer works on every type of project, but her speciality is hospitality and commercial spaces. She has worked on several big hotel projects, like the Mandarin Oriental in Hyde Park and the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. CovetED is here to let you know all about the designer, are you ready? The Octagon Bar and Lounge is inspired by the world of the 1950s Italian circus, with silk wallpaper hung from a central panel to resemble tent fabric. The studio sourced a variety of original circus apparatus such as juggling pins and flame throwers to liven the walls and complete the spectacle.
Joyce Wang Studio unveils the design of the all-new Kyubi restaurant at London’s most exclusive members’ club, The Arts Club. Kyubi’s new look fuses mid-century contemporary design with an opulent Meiji period aesthetic; an era that symbolizes the beginnings of modernization in Japan at a point when eastern and western principles met. The historic synthesis of cultural heritage and styles is echoed throughout the studio’s interpretation of Kyubi.

Joyce Wang Studio has unveiled the Mandarin Oriental Penthouse at the newly refurbished Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. Reminiscent of a luxurious London apartment, with bespoke-designed furniture of unparalleled quality and finish, the magnificent three-bed penthouse is an elegantly understated celebration of its iconic London surroundings. Inspired by the hotel’s unique location, every detail takes inspiration from the park and the ever-changing skies over the city.
Located in the heart of the Venetian Resort on Las Vegas Strip, Joyce Wang Studio unveils the opulent, East-meets-West design of Mott32 Vegas. Seamlessly fusing the two cultures, our Studio’s vision was to celebrate the hedonism of the Vegas location whilst paying homage to the Chinese imperialism meets New York Industrialism aesthetic of the original Mott 32 in Hong Kong.
The restaurant’s name derives from a plant found in the Peruvian Andes that only grows in extreme conditions. The name reflects both Martinez’s in-depth knowledge of indigenous ingredients and his passion for new culinary challenges. The Studio has drawn inspiration from Peru’s landscape and Martinez’s culinary style. Featuring richly textured materials and raw finishes to evoke Peru’s changing topography and dynamic ecosystem, the vibrant colours and inventive flourishes capture Martinez’s progressive culinary style.
The Studio combined a contemporary approach with mid-century Brazil to create a fresh and playful interior for this property, even bringing in Brazilian design classics by Sergio Rodrigues and Jorge Zalszupin.
Jin Gui is located in the underbelly of the Tortue Hotel, Hamburg. By nature of the location, guests are invited along a journey as one descends into this secluded, Pan-Asian restaurant and discover its openness to a historic courtyard. Jin Gui meaning golden tortoise in Chinese nods to the unique story of a French woman parading down this courtyard with her rare tortoise on a leash during the heyday of Stadthofe. Our Studio approached the interiors by personifying the qualities of this woman, our muse. We are captivated by her flair, eye for the avant-garde, and penchant for exhibitionism.
Dedicated to extravagant entertaining, the hotel’s newest and largest suite measures an expansive 2,250 square feet, providing guests with the ultimate retreat for socializing or relaxing.
The studio looked to Hyde Park for inspiration- specifically the different textures, forms, and colours you will see at ground level. Fallen acorns served as inspiration here. The aesthetic of the acorn was inspired by crown jewels used during royal ceremonies hosted by the hotel in the past.
Ceremonial in proportion and materiality, we inherited a monumental bank interior that became our playground for the site of Equinox, St. James. This location is the London flagship of E by Equinox– a highly personalized and exclusive members-only haven for fitness and wellness. The interiors are provocative, bold, and serpentine, in contrast to its more conservative and formal architecture.
