Studio Catoir is another excellent example of the quality and versatility of French interior designers. In the case of this particular interior design firm, they have a strong portfolio regarding the hotel sector, as well as some private residences and graphics. CovetED is about to introduce you to a unique design team that works their way in both Paris and Milan.

Studio Catoir was founded by Elisa & Michael Catoir. The duo first met during their studies in 1997 and together they took an essential step in both their careers when they joined Matteo Thun and Partners in Italy. The experience in the Italian design firm would have a strong influence on the way they practise design, and it would mark them as professionals and individuals.
Eight years after first joining Matteo Thun and Partners the pair would risk it further by eventually creating their own design project in 2006. As a matter of fact, even before the experience in the Italian design firm, they were also involved in other firms in Paris (specifically Studios Architecture, Habitat and Andrée Putman) and in Germany (Sieger Design).

When it comes to their portfolio, we can state that Studio Catoir has an incredible record so far. They’ve been responsible for handling establishments such as the Radisson Blu (Sas) Hotels in Frankfurt and Birmingham, the Airport Hotel Stuttgart, the first Missoni Hotels in Edinburgh and Kuwait, the concept stores for Hugo Boss and Porsche Design, the competence centre Colderio for Hugo Boss, as well as the very first Vapiano restaurant in Hamburg.
The hotel industry seems to be their main target in that regard, even though Studio Catoir is perfectly able to handle other types and styles of projects. The most noticeable parts of their projects have to do with the fact that they are very colourful and blend in several types of styles. You can easily find a mid-century and a contemporary set of elements in either one of their projects, which reveals the talent that they have in handling projects in a historical and aesthetic point of view.
