Paris is worldwide recognized as the hub of fashion, but that’s not all. The City of Lights is also considered as the centre of design. Every September, it hosts Maison et Objet, September edition, a trade show dedicated to the celebration of design at the highest level that brings together top luxury brands with their hottest news & trends. In the most recent years, Maison et Objet September has added almost 300 exhibits in the French capital as part of Paris Design Week. This year, it was no exception and, as always, Paris set the newest interior design trends and previewed the Fall season and the upcoming trends 2020. Wood Crafted Furniture Design

Since the beginning of times, wood has been an intricate part of the world of furniture design. This year, Paris Design Week brings this design trend back into the spotlight! The unique Pixel Walnut Cabinet by design brand Boca do Lobo features 1088 wooden triangles in a diversity of wood and finishes: walnut root veneer, gold leaf, and black lacquer.

Earth Tones Are The Trend For Fall Season

Of course, the fall/autumn season is synonymous with earthy tones that perfectly blend with the weather outside. Covet House, brought that same thought when creating the colour palette for its booth at the September edition of Maison et Objet 2019.

From Greek statues to masks, the human face was everywhere at Maison et Objet. However, the key to this design trend is to only show three quarters or half like these fabulous mirrors by Lucie Kaas!

Cherry On Top

Fruit patterns are coming back, but the most prominently featured at Paris Design Week was cherries. Liven up your decor with this Dior Maison cake stand featuring the red fruit.

Architecture

When Italians collaborate, of course, they turn to their country for inspiration, and what better place to look than the Eternal City. Studio AMeBE decided to reimagine San Pietro’s dome as a light for Seletti, giving a nod to their art and culture. Are you on board with this design trend?

The pattern Jackson Pollock made famously is in full swing again. Born enamelware is featuring it in a variety of colours and calling the collection “Island Breeze.”

“Come inside, it’s fun inside!” With its copyright up this year, our favourite mouse is back and was all over Paris Design Week. However, the showstopper was India Mahdavi‘s raffia creation.

In a more autumnal feel, many companies decided to focus on hunting game as their design trend. Ranging from deer to fowl, these plates by Gien are definitely not for the squeamish!

Neon Is Your Go-To Statement

Maison et Objet’s Designer of The Year, Laura Gonzalez wants you to make a statement with your interior design project. The artist suggests that you use a pop of neon in your home decor, perhaps with a piece from her furniture collection.
