PAD Paris Artist: Isabelle Stanislas’ Design for Galerie BSL ⇒ Isabelle Stanislas brings yet again her artistry to PAD Paris, and more precisely, to Galerie BSL’s stand. Known for her geometrical aesthetic which is omnipresent in everything she does; Isabelle is always able to merge decoration with architecture and furniture design and the most inspired and beautiful way. Curious? CovetED shows you all the details of her new artwork below!

Isabelle Stanislas’ work is as diverse as her roots – Moroccan, French and Israeli – and filled with a unique balance between history, modernity, and boldness as an artist.

Isabelle graduated from l’Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris with a diploma in architecture and was rapidly distinguished for her work on several artistic projects, displaying an open attitude to diverse forms of creative expression. One of the biggest highlights in her career was the work she did for the Zadig & Voltaire boutiques, in 2003, which demonstrated her now trademark artistic vision. The project included her favourite themes – the rationalization of space, the respect for heritage and the use of raw colours – a style that she continues to explore.

Influenced by the work of Tadao Ando, Renzo Piano and Louis Khan, Isabelle Stanislas built her “artistic philosophy of structure” over many successful projects. Through manipulating scale, volume and space with inserts of monolithic blocks, Stanislas looks to soothe the area she is working on while respecting its unique identity.

In Isabelle’s own words: “To invent is not to question everything. It means using the existing light and space and projecting them into the present. Heritage is not condemned to a life behind a window of the past. If we respect heritage, if we understand its codes and values, then we can marry it with modernity without denaturing it. After all, the past, the present and the future have always been the three sides of the same scalene”.
