Discover New Launches and Trends to See at Milan Design Week 2019 ⇒ Every year, Milan gets a lustrous touch courtesy of a wide variety of events and exhibitions, throughout the city’s famous design districts, that come to challenge and elevate the notion of design and craftsmanship. In this article, CovetED will talk about a series of new launches as well as trends that are expected to be seen during the beloved Milan Design Week. The majority of them are related to Italian design and furniture and you’ll get to see all of them between 8-14 April.

Baleri Italia

The luxury brand will present a family of tables designed by Baldessari and Baldessari where design and versatility come together beautifully. These designs were created to meet the different needs of contemporary environments, both living and office. A continuous line, consisting of a circular section metal tube, which “unfolds” and draws the structure of the tables; a “thread of Ariadne”, without interruption, which at the leg is extended and opens in a “V” shape. A table with a simple but elegant design, with a fresh and at the same time refined image.

De Rerum Natura

De Rerum Natura returns to Cascina Cuccagna. The call is open for exhibitors to participate in this edition, titled Renaissance. This year includes a new addition, an exhibition curated by Laura Traldi “Design Collisions – The power of collective ideas”. A selection of projects aligned with the philosophy of De Rerum Natura will be made by the curator, designer Matteo Ragni.

Colos

Colos will present numerous new features at Milan Design Week, including two seats, two range extensions and two table collections. Pigrego and Torre are two of the designs that are bound to stand out in the showcase. The first one is a polypropylene stool that has various functionalities and it’s endowed with a strong sculptural sense whereas the second one resulted in products with a friendly expression and classic attitude, able to adapt in different environments.

Fantin

One of the new creations that Fantin will present at Milan Design Week 2019 is the Frame bookcase selection designed by Salvatore Indriolo. Rationality, minimalist looks and maximum scope for customization: these are the keywords at the heart of the new modular selection that has been added to the Frame range.

G.T Design

The designer Deanna Comellini surprises once again, offering the visual and sensorial experience of her original personal and primordial vision: Moving Forest, a collection in high-quality wool, repeats the format of Native, patented in exclusive by G.T.Design. Moving Forest in an “undefined” space, a hybrid of a circle and a square: an environment ideal for movement and full immersion, and clearly inspired by nature.

Linea Light Group

Linea Light Group will present five brand-new lighting designs: Demì (A dome in PMMA that “takes shape” when the lamp is on), Dress Code (the new table lamp is composed of interchangeable parts in each component, from the articulated head with an LED source to the tapered arm, which can also be articulated, to the solid circular base), Derby (A sound-absorbing device that integrates quality lighting), Ink System (a system made up of several extraordinarily versatile items united by the same concept) and Opti-Pole (a revolution of the concept of bollard for public spaces).

Matteo Brioni

Matteo Brioni carries on the research for the continuously finishes, which for 2019 is told through a boiserie systemcalledArazzi. Born under the artistic direction of the architect Marialaura Rossiello of the Studio Irvine, it is a modular and geometric system with contemporary lines, inspired by the tapestries of the tradition of textile art, real looms on which is finished the clay.

Max Design

Maxdesign will present the new sustainable material interpreted by the Max seating collection. Developed in the company by the Research and Development department, starting from the raw material to a second life cycle, they are declined in two colour palettes: Solid for the RE-PPL version made with recycled polypropylene and reinforced and Blend for RE-WOOD produced with RE -PPL and recycled wood granules.

Kober + Olivari 

Kober, the German company known for technical ceramics, has been developing unique, high-end door handle concepts in collaboration with eleven renowned designers. Kober decided to carry out research and experimentation on the use of porcelain for handles and met in Olivari, Italian company leader in the production of handles for doors and windows, the ideal partner. The workshop’s results will be shown in an exhibition with the title Enter Porcelain, staged at Palazzo Litta during the Milan interior design week
