She has a master’s degree in Contemporary Ceramics from the Art College in Lisbon and a scholarship from Tama Art University in Tokyo.

Thanks to her life in Japan, Catarina opened her heart to Zen’s philosophy and Wabi-Sabi, bringing them into her creative process and artistic expression.

Her bachelor is focused in Design and Technology applied to Ceramics from ESTGAD and she was also a student in the course Ceramic and Glass Design at the University of Central England, Birmingham.

Her love for ceramic art was always present through her path, so she participated in several workshops connected to her field, but also to textile and glass materials. In 1999, she started to work in Ceramic and Graphic Design for companies like Raul da Bernarda, Porcel and Design Atelier Show – Save Hours of Work.
