And that’s why Carl Hansen & Son highlighted the numerous possibilities of change of the Wishbone Chair, presenting this design icon in eight new colours inspired by nature.

The new colours that were presented as an anniversary celebration are inspired by nature – forests, beaches and woods – reimagined in elegant, deep and soft hues. The earth tones of Rosy Blush, Russet Red and Deep Burgundy are contrasting the classic Navy Blue. The more soothing colours like Oyster Grey, Forest Green, Midnight Blue and Deep Olive evoke a sense of connection with the surrounding nature and a warm and inviting environment.

In 1949 Wegner drew the first Wishbone Chair, known for its distinctive shape. The production started in 1950 and hasn’t stopped since. It’s the result of an incredible partnership between Wegner and specialized artisans that contributed to the development of the demanding design. Almost 70 years after, the Wishbone Chair is still very demanding for the specialized Carl Hansen & Son’s artisans that manually assemble and work on the 14 different parts of the chairs.
