The stunning 2.01-acre Beverly Hills property is part of Elizabeth Taylor‘s history and is now on the market for someone to have. The exquisite property was built 65 years ago and remains with the timeless luxury and elegance it always had.
The stunning residence, with enviable views of both the city and the ocean, was used by Taylor and Wilding primarily as an escape from their busy lives in Los Angeles, sits behind a highly secure gate that opens onto an expansive front courtyard leading to the 7,761-square-foot main residence, a large carpark, and a separate three-car garage.
Inside, the six-bedroom, seven-bath exquisite property offers sweeping views through floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that stretch across the main sitting areas. Wooden beams line the walls and ceiling of the living room and dining room, which is an update made by the current owners via architect Budd Holden, who designed estates for A-list celebrities like Barbra Streisand and Cher in the 1980s and 1990s.
The master suite has a unique octagonal shape, with a raised cutout in the ceiling that highlights the layout of the room. It also features a white brick fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lush backyard lawn and swimming pool.
Other features of the home include four fireplaces, a fountain courtyard, an art studio, and a large home office. According to Forbes, Taylor’s studio at the time, MGM, loaned the couple money to buy the luxury home in order to keep her happy.
