Antarctica – It’s Earth’s southernmost continent, and that’s why it contains the planet geographic South Pole. It has an extension of over 14,000,000 square kilometres so, by comparison, it’s almost twice the size of Australia. It’s a unique and magical place, but there is only one small problem: Approximately 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice.

That’s why Antartica is one of the most remote and isolated places in the world. You won’t find any luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, shops or galleries, but you may be surprised to know that Antarctica it’s one of the most expensive places on earth! It’s so expensive because it’s extremely difficult to get there and to survive in the harshest areas of this continent. Despite that, Antarctica is an amazing travel destination if you are into extreme vacations.

There are several companies all over the world that organize safaris and field trips to Antarctica in the Summer of the South Hemisphere (Winter on the North Hemisphere) between November and March. It’s almost impossible to visit this continent in the real Winter, but you can enjoy some wonderful winter vacation that may include stunning hikes through crystalline snow-fields or spectacular dives in the clear waters of the continent. Arctic Canada – It’s the northernmost region of Canada variously defined by geography, politics and tourism. In recent years, the Arctic Canada area gained notoriety in the tourism industry thanks to the spectacular natural experience it has to offer.

You can enjoy some amazing snowy hokes, but you can also practise some extreme skiing in some of the most dangerous mountains of Canada. You can enjoy spectacular winter excursions and see some amazing wildlife or you can enjoy some amazing boat trips through the cold sea that connects Norway to the North Pole. The best part is that you can have an amazing winter experience by watching closely some of the biggest icebergs in the world.

Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy – Finally we recommend the stunning Cortina d’Ampezzo area, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s this 2018’s favourite ski playground for the rich and famous. If you are itching for a ski vacation, then Cortina d’Ampezzo is the place to be!
