Decofair is Saudi Arabia’s exclusive international design trade exhibition. The 9th edition of the four-day event is taking place from 6-9 November and will count with the participation of 120 exhibitors who are set to showcase their sensational designs and furniture pieces at the Hilton Hotel, in Jeddah.
The chairwoman of the organizing committee, Haya Al Sunaidi unveiled that the booming construction market in Saudi Arabia led to an increase in demand for furniture to raise the volume of imports to 2.2 billion US dollars (8.25 billion riyals) this year. Having said that, the United States, Britain, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, UAE, and Kuwait represent the wide diversity of exhibitors present in this astonishing event and as expected Saudi companies and factories will also have an active impact at the event.
Al Sunaidi also pointed that preparations for the first “Decofair” Riyadh have commenced and the event is scheduled to happen from 6-8 March 2018 at the stunning Al Faisaliah Hotel. The director of exhibitions, Rony Al-Haddad discloses that“Decofair 9th edition covers all sectors of furniture, lighting, design materials and services and home decorations.”
As a whole, the event is an effective facilitator for industry professionals, including architects, designers, contractors, investors, hospitality and projects’ managers, to gather and discover what is new in the industry. It gives the opportunity for prestigious local and international companies in the furniture and design sectors to exchange experiences, cooperate together, and do business.
The Second edition of “Decofair Design Award 2017” also took place with the participation of the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities. The ‘’Decofair Design Awards’’ is a professional platform to support creative designers from all over the world, highlighting products and projects. This leads the way for business professionals and decision-makers to know their body of work and possibly collaborating with them in the future.
Saudi Arabia has become one of the main markets in the Middle East in terms of the furniture sector, offering numerous opportunities for growth and expansion. This year, the interior design sector increased by 14% and over 120 projects are expected to be launched during the next three years.
