The Molteni Group, gathering Molteni&C and Dada, opened a new Concept Store in Milan and the prestigious Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen was the responsible for conceiving a gracious and awe-inspiring store, which also acts as an exhibition space.

“Calling on a palette of glass, oxidized wood, and raw metal, the flagship’s atmosphere evokes the feeling of Italian craftsmanship and timeless, sustainable luxury,” said Vincent Van Duysen about the project.

The spatial experience, the materials and the lighting (in partnership with Flos and Artemide) were deliberately designed to offer an atmospheric and involving experience, a new home concept based on the skilful alternation of spaces and material geometries.

The extension of the new luxury concept store in Corso Europa, initially devoted exclusively to the Molteni&C and Vitra brands, and the acquisition of the corner property between via Cavallotti and Corso Europa, has completed the brand’s distribution network renovation process, which has been developed for several years and has increased professional connections between the Dada kitchen concept and the Molteni&C home living world.

During Milan Design Week, Molteni&C has unveiled the new outstanding collection for 2017 in the refurbished Flagship Store, which included the Welcome Collection consisting of a series of small tables designed by Rodolfo Dordoni (products that span both residential and soft contract projects), two new reissues of Gio Ponti designs, in partnership with the Gio Ponti Archives, Teorema, a new storage unit designed by Ron Gilad, Sloane, a new modular sofa by MDT and Master Dressing, an evolution of the Gliss Master system, a new concept of wardrobes and walk-in closets designed by Vincent van Duysen.

In the over 600 sq.m devoted to Dada kitchens, on the other hand, a large lounge at the entrance acts as a foyer and hospitality area. The large VVD kitchen island designed by Vincent Van Duysen, with its characteristic railway steel doors, its Gré stone top, its Pivot columns and Bright extra clear tempered glass wall unit.

Vincent Van Duysen’s take on the handle-free kitchen sees contrasts between the slender thicknesses of the side and terminal units and the chunky worktops, which complement each other, interrupting the linearity of the counter with top-mount stone sinks.

New features and accessories common to all the collections are presented with Banco, Hi-Line6, INDada, Tivalì and Trim on display on the bottom floor of the showroom.
