Jestico + Whiles are an employee-owned international architecture and interior design practice based in London and Prague. Their talented team of over 100 people has completed major projects throughout the UK and across the world. They have proven expertise in excellent, sustainable design across a wide range of sectors: housing, hotels, education, offices, retail, research, transport, and cultural facilities.
Jestico + Whiles has designed the first two phases of the 14 hectare Island Quarter masterplan in Nottingham, one of the largest developments in Nottingham for decades. The island site is home to layers of history from Nottingham’s industrial and manufacturing past, with remnants of Victorian stations and railway lines as well as historic canals and waterways. It was the site of the original Boots The Chemist.
These phases will kick-start a major regeneration just outside the city centre with a collection of landmark mixed-use buildings, set amongst a network of public squares, parks and waterways.
House 19 is designed as a carbon neutral, energy efficient home in the ancient historic town of Old Amersham, nestled in the Chiltern Hills. The house fuses traditional forms and local materials in an elegant and modern way to make full use of the natural aspect and orientation of the site.

The development of a simple plan and section has delivered a house of exceptional quality whilst at the same time bringing together the most comprehensive range of passive and active energy-saving features in a well-considered, thoughtful assembly of light-filled spaces, suited to 21st century living.
With times changing in London’s club land, established clubs are investing and updating their facilities to meet their members’ evolving expectations. Jestico + Whiles was commissioned by the Lansdowne Club to produce a long-term masterplan, which considered how space might be better utilised throughout their Grade II* listed building. The dining room was identified as an under-performing asset, tired and in need of attention. The club wanted the refurbishment to re-energise the dining experience for members, whilst retaining and augmenting its cherished 1930s White Allom deco character, which had become diluted over the years.
The Yas Hotel consists of 252 deluxe and 247 executive bedrooms and combines spectacular architectural design with innovative technology in an unparalleled position overlooking the Yas Marina, Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.
The design consists of an undulating cloak of transparent panels which stretch between two elliptical towers of the hotel. The aerodynamic building form evokes marine imagery of the Arabian Gulf and the curvilinear appearance of the Formula 1 cars and the race track.
