It is located close to 5 UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Porto (45 minutes distance), Guimarães, Braga, having the Bom Jesus at a distance of 25 minutes, Douro Valley and Santiago de Compostela, in Spain (90 minutes distance). It is also closely located next to the lovely Peneda-Gerês National Park – the biggest one in Portugal – among many other beautiful and picturesque villages such as Sistelo and Soajo, Atlantic Beach Coasts routes and it is on the route of “Caminho de Santiago” and the route of the original demarcated region of the Vinho Verde.

Carmo’s Boutique Hotel has a restaurant where Portuguese Cuisine has a special emphasis. From the fresh fish of the Portuguese seas to the juicy meat of the meadows, you will get an exquisite experience with the flavourful dishes they present to you.

Carmo’s Boutique has selected the best of the best of the Minho Terroirs, from the biggest demarcated region of Europe, to increase the knowledge and appreciation of its unique wines in symbiotic association with gastronomy. The region presents itself as “a vast amphitheater that, from the seafront, gradually rises to the inside” (Amorim Girão), exposing the whole area to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, a phenomenon reinforced by the orientation of the valleys of the main rivers, that flow from east to west facilitate the penetration of the sea winds. The vineyards, which are characterized by their large vegetative expansion, in different driving ways, occupy an area of 21,000 hectares and account for 15% of the national wine-growing area.
